    KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

After being away for 14 months, without my beloved Tenere I really felt the urge to get back into the adventure riding world. My fix for this craving was the KTM 1290 Super Adventure. I picked it up the Wednesday before Christmas. With the recent cold weather and a full schedule, I've only...

    Hate to say it, but......

Last night I traded in my "long in the tooth" Harley and sadly, my Super Tenere. The last time I really got to use the best bike I've ever owned was when a great group of riders joined me in an assault on Mormon Well Rd. Since then the bike we all know and love had been relegated to the duties...

    Panguitch, UT

This weekend I found myself in Panguitch, UT with an itch to ride. I stumbled onto a rode called Sanford Creek. Awesome riding. I turned off on Smith Canyon Rd. It got even better. I'm thinking Smith Canyon Rd went all the way over the mountain. I'll never know because we ran out of time...

Personal Freedoms vs. Texting While Driving

I’ve been struggling with something lately. As the topic suggests, where do we draw the line on rules, laws, policy’s that infringe on our freedoms? I don’t text and drive. Period. I think it’s dangerous and I don’t want to do it. In fact, I get angry when I see people texting and driving...

Is there a name for that?

On a dirt road, some say a Two Track, what do you call the deep loose dirt/gravel that piles up in between the two tracks? I just need to know how to properly curse that junk when it causes the above.

    Destination: Las Vegas!

Destination: Las Vegas It seems there are a lot of folks that want to get together and do a ride. So my thought is, if you’re going to do it….do it big! I propose a regional ride, open to one and all. All makes and models, so if you have a friend with brand X, bring them along. It seems to...

has anyone changed their oil pan? Is it worth taking to the shop?

I developed a slow leak from my oil pan recently. after an inspection, I found where I think the leak was coming from. I must have bent my pan after discovering a rock that exceeded the bikes ground clearence. So anyway, I have a new pan and some gaskets. The service manual is 93.00 plus...

    Audi TT-Rs ????

This is a long shot, but my brother is buying an Audi TT-Rs (2012) over the Internet. The car is here in Vegas and my brother is not. I've looked at the car but a couple of things bothered me. Under the hood and rear hatch, there were stickers that read, "Safetyparts" with a 1-800 number listed...

    Fuel Injection: Adjust Synchronization.

Disclaimer: I'm a dumby. I'm just over 16k on my bike. I've changed engine oil and gear oil every 4k. All Yamaha lubes. Now I'm thinking because I have 16k I should bring it to the dealer for some more thorough maintenance. The chart of Periodic Maintenance claims we should tend to our...

    Torque Settings for rear caliper.

In not a techie, I'm a cheapie. Don't want to pay the shop to slap new pads on my rear wheel. Can anyone tell me the torque values needed to replace the rear caliper? Anything else I should know before I start this? I did a quick search but could find the info. Thanks in advance for your help.

Opinions on Victory Cross Country Tour?

Not that anybody on this forum is opinionated, but if you have any experiences with the Victory line and specifically the Cross Country Tour I would love to hear from you. My HD has seen its better days and I need to start thinking about retiring it from active duty. This past weekend I had a...

To wave or not to wave.

Are you a waver or non-waver? And what are the "rules of enwavement". I find some non-Harley guys won't wave when I'm on my HD and when I'm on my Super Tenere HD guys ignore my gesture of comradery. It seems like more people wave when not in city traffic, understandable. Fewer will wave...
