Disclaimer: I'm a dumby.

I'm just over 16k on my bike. I've changed engine oil and gear oil every 4k. All Yamaha lubes. Now I'm thinking because I have 16k I should bring it to the dealer for some more thorough maintenance.

The chart of Periodic Maintenance claims we should tend to our Fuel Injection by adjusting the Synchronization every 4k miles. I have no idea what that is. Should I bother or should I leave it alone? One way or the other I'm putting it in the shop for air filter, steering grease repack, etc...

do you mean the throttle body sync?
If so you should def. bother to do it.
Lot's of info here on the site on how to, and how to make the bike less lean (I think)
do a search on throttle body sync (tb).

Thanks. I'm not sure what the owners manual is referring to. I typed it just like it reads. I'm kind of a " if it ain't broke..." Kind of a guy.

Jaxon, are you referring to the Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment to help him with or the TBS? I want to know if others have done this beside Phil (Firefight) whose dealer did one. I surely want to know.

No, just the sync..... I've messed with the TPS with other bikes and I don't feel this one will need to be checked or adjusted.. Just double check the white paint slash mark on it... If its still aligned up I would say your good.. Im not messing with that on this bike... But I do make sure the sync is real good.....
