On a dirt road, some say a Two Track, what do you call the deep loose dirt/gravel that piles up in between the two tracks?

I just need to know how to properly curse that junk when it causes the above.

I'm not aware of a name for that stuff, but I'm very aware of my reaction to that stuff.

1. Instant heavy dose of adrenaline, applied harshly usually felt as a punch to the chest.
2. Followed quickly by the utterance of an explicative, usually something like "oh %$#!"
3a. If speed is slow enough legs may be deployed in a flailing, basically ungraceful motion that eliminates any modicum of dignity.
3b. If speed is too high, repeat step 2.
4. Hard to predict, but a close up sampling of the material is a distinct possibility.

I find the stuff to be very similar to sand, or at least the way I handle sand. I really suck in sand.

Ok, we have Loft? Ridge of doom (I like the abbreviated version, Rod, as in: wow, that's a big rod......maybe not). Berm is probably correct, sounds kinda country, like where we ride.

As for Dirt dads list, I clearly recall number numbers 1 through 4.

Gotta ask... what was your TC setting and were you crossing the Loft Rod Berm Island?

TC2. How I got there is a classic mental fatigue error. I came around a corner to the left while looking right at something that distracted me. Drifted on to the right shoulder, over corrected into the BIRL (Berm,Island,Rod,Loft). Resulting in the Kodak moment after Dirt Dads 4 step process.

At least the wheels were pointed downhill for a easier lift.

A few weeks ago I encountered a section of that type of stuff. Determined to learn how to deal with it, I turned around to do it again. After an awkward second pass I decided my learning could resume when the weather was warmer. I've made a mental note of where it is, and "plan" to go back. Guess I wasn't all that determined.
