Mounted a Shinko 750 on the front to go with the Battle Wing I put on the rear a few weeks ago. Wanted a little more front bite on gravel than the EXP that was mounted gives with out losing the bikes great street manners.

Installed the Kriega fork protectors

also installed the Tech Spec protectors..

I was tired of the left mirror vibration after the J&M CB install so decided to make a simple bracket to put the mirror back in it's OEM location, works like a charm...

.. spacer..

That would be at least 2 bad batches ::007:: as it took several months for the cracking to show up the first time, and about 4 months for the last one....

I'll go back to Dirt Skins from now on. Never had that problem with them and they are cheaper.

First, I made more room for it in the garage by selling my BMW to this guy:

Then, I installed my Wunderlich side stand foot:

And last I finally hung my poster in the garage:

Oh yeah, and I rode it!

Today I (we) tested SW Motech parts. I slammed my skid plate trying to get out of a dirt section and back onto the road. Everything held except my back which I tweaked keeping the bike from going over. Yes, I know...don't do that. It all happened way too fast to avoid. Yes, the bike stayed up.

My wife tested her SW Motech crash bars when she lost it in a mud section of the "road" we were riding. One hell of a West Virginia road. It was awesome. Bars worked find but picking up a bike with a tweaked back and standing in greasy mud is not as much fun as it may sound. She was fine, had a great attitude and it was an fantastic ride day... one of my best ever. Yes...video will follow at some point.

It was rainy and generally crappy outside so I tried to fit up a few accessories.

I installed a Vista Cruise. Did my standard job by just using 3M Molding Tape to hold the Vista to the throttle housing. I did have to take the grip and plastic washer to the grinder to trim up the circumference a bit to clear the VC.

2nd project was a failure. I tried to mount up the Rox Risers I had lying around. Unfortunately, as some already know, there just is not enough slack in the hydraulic lines. Project abandoned.

I rode a 400 mile loop up and around the Mountain by Taos, we call it the "Enchanted Circle".
Saw this on the side of a little Mechanics shop in the tiny town of Questa, NM

You can loosen the lever perches and move them inboard about half an inch before the handguards start interfering a bunch, thus creating some slack in the lines. I couldn't ride this machine very long without those two inch risers on there. I've got the longer lines in the shop, there just isn't room enough for me to get two wrenches in there to change the lines out. I'm not really in the mood to unbutton the whole front end to change out those lines, so there they sit.

Finally got to the air screw adjustment and TB synch. Pulled the twist grip apart and lubed the heated grip cable; mirror extenders from SW Motech, up and out; Hella 100 watt headlight bulbs.

Harmonizer = the shit. Slicker than dog poo on wet grass.

Added another 350+ miles this weekend.. Rode out to a friends property, was great to ride around on 15 acres. They had a few acres that where mowed down but was covered on clovers. Its like riding on ice, was a blast ! ::26::

Went for a wet and cold 360km ride today, about 100Km with a bunch of great guys, it was very challenging for me, I need better tires for that kind of riding. Canadian Dakar racer Patrick Trahan was The leader of my group, very nice guy and always ready to help. After lunch I decided to come home and wash the bike, (they continue on for 160Km more) that mud was like cement mixed with gravel and sand.

Yep, washed some of that off today after a 30 min ride. Utah mud is some fierce stuff! K60s baby, K60s. You need to contact Jaxon at Ride ON ADV

Yes, the K60s do look nice on our S10s. On my ride today (18-20 bikes) there was only on one S10 and it was mine. ::001::

I went out for an 'equipment test.' First, I played on a couple one-lane gravel roads in the Gorge. My larger plan was to continue my gravel/fire road practice, but I hit the snowline before I reached my target road. That's when I stopped to take this pic. What you can't see in this photo is how hard the rain was coming down. After being denied access, I headed back into the Gorge to get on I-84 east where I found standing water on the freeway followed by hail after crossing the Columbia at the Bridge of the Gods. At one point, it was raining hard enough that water was flowing down the inside of my visor. I couldn't keep it fog-free when it was closed and a single click up allowed water to pour in from the top. It really was raining that hard. <shrug> I live a couple hundred miles south of a temperate rain forest (Hoh Rain Forest on the Olympia Penn). It's Oregon. It's spring. Rain happens. I did get a couple glimpses of blue sky but I never found a place that didn't have rain during my 4 hour ride.
Everything that was supposed to be waterproof worked as advertised. The leather gloves I was wearing were soaked. My Sena helmet comm, GPS, and MP3 players worked without a hitch. (Even when my wife called to check to see if I was alive.) The TKC80s handle great in the slime/mud/loose gravel and I'm learning their limits on tarmc. I still need to fiddle with things before the summer road trip/gathering, but I have time for that.
