Ordered mine from amotostuff in Jan. They came in 2 weeks ago. They went on easy and look good, IMHO. Happy with this vendor and would use them again.

if the bars don't move a bit, something else might bend or break. I'd rather it was the crash bars. I would imagine and hope that all crash bars will give when hit hard enough. nothing wrong with the givi product.
Enough said. ::008:: 260+ kilos + speed ...do the math. Oh...i forgot to mention...what actually bended, are the two bolts...when i take it off i'll take some pics...

Best deal moneywise I have seen on the Givi's, (sporttour). $153 to my door and were in stock! They have about 5 or six sets still on hand.

I got mine in Thursday and put them on yesterday. I had a little different experience. Basically the instructions were spot on if they started at D and ended at A. There was no way the puzzle was going to go together mounting the outside crashbars, then trying to finaggle the center support brackets and mount in there.

Perhaps the reason the instructions were so vague is because different sets might not have the same fit/quality control? I've not owned a Givi bars before only SW Motech.

I started in the center and worked my way out as well. The only challenge I had was that I had actually bent one of the left side mounts when I dumped her, so it took a bit of finagling to get everything lined up and the bolt threaded. Still, it only took me a little over an hour to get everything in place.

I'm thinking I might mount a set of lights right at the curve where the side bars meet the center brackets, seems like a good spot for both protection ans effectiveness of the lights.

Agree 100%. That would be a perfect place for a set of lights. Denalis?

Sore as hell from playing garage monkey, though. I'm not used to bending my body in all sorts of different contortions like that trying to get the center mounts in place - I guess that's what happens when you fly a desk for a living ::008::

I'm actually thinking HID: http://www.trailtech.net/4282-SS.html

My plan (so far) is Denali's down on the front forks, always on, PIAA LED bar under the headlights, switched on the high beam circuit, and the Trail Tech HIDs on the Givi bars, with a separate switch.

Ordered them yesterday, shipped today. Still looking for the elusive G spot. Hopefully the install will be easy peezy lemon squeezy! Thanks for all the posts to make the decision easier.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, didn't try searching for it, but if you ride off road with Givi crash bars the right rear mount will cremate your shin every time you stick your leg out in a corner. The left side is tucked under and further forward and I have not experienced hitting my shin on the left side, but the right side is a killer. If you wear MX boots you would be ok. I usually only wear 50/50 boots so I walk around with a permanent limp.

What is everyone doing to control corrosion of the Givi supplied fasteners? I was going to order stainless or yellow zinc replacements, but the shipping was triple the cost of the fasteners. Someone had mentioned treating the bolts, but not sure with what?

I remember the Givi supplied bolts on my DL1000 bars corroded horribly within the first year. I'd rather avoid that with the bolts going into my engine.

I might be able to purchase the bolts locally and ship them to you. Do you have the sizes and type of bolts? I need to do this for my Givi bars.

Thanks to this forum and the insight to installing Givi engine guards I put mine on this morning in 45 minutes. Definitely, build the inside up and then just hand tighten. Addiing the L/R guards was a snap. Went around adding a little blue loctite to appropriate bolts and done. I spent more time trying to take the shrink wrap off the bars when I pulled them from the box. Thanks Adventure Moto Stuff. Join up and get a discount for AdVenture Forum and free shipping.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately you have exposed one of my common issues. I have temporarily misplaced my installation instructions which has the bolt sizes on it. This is annoying since I just had the instructions in my had 3 nights ago. They are around here somewhere, but if you have yours the bolt sizes are printed there.

And I thought it was just me. I have been looking for the instructions for two days. Installed the guards late one night and took the instructions with me on a trip just in case.

Does anyone have the instructions for the GIVI Guards TN355?
