Yes, I know it is out. But my challenge to him was "if he can make it (V2) LOOK as good as V1....."
I agree V2 is in a class of it's own as far as form follows function. But I"m willing to give up some function to gain a bit of beauty. V1 is just so aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion.

I"m patient. Somebody is gonna cut some sexy slots into their V2 and post it. THEN I will know what I want.

I got faith in all you guys. Been "following" yaw for a long time. :p
We can add slots / holes / vents / etc. sky is the limmit. That was the base model / look... Email or PM what ya want:)

Rats! During the recent "backorder" era for the Givi Bars, somehow I got confused.

Well the back-order period is obviously over. I got one set mounted. I like em!
Got home tonight and found a second set boxed up on the porch.

Hmmmm. Wish I had a buddy with his own Super Tenere. O:)
Do you still have your second set for sale?
If so, pm me...

I ordered some from amoto way back in OCTOBER and am still waiting...

I "Givi'd" up the ST this past weekend. It went ok. Followed the suggestions mentioned here. I did run into the issue with getting all for bolts installed on the front engine mount. I finally got it without having to resort to opening the hole diameter. I attributed it to very tight tolerances.

After a L-O-N-G wait, my GIVI crashbars finally arrived.

Question about the install: Any issue taking all 4 engine bolts out at the same time? The engine won't fall out on me? :-[

Thanks.

I don't think it will fall out, but I recommend using a jack(small scissor jack) to take the weight off the mounts and use to raise or lower (just a bit) the engine to line up the bolts when re installing.
It has worked for me and no problems on installation.

As Jim recommends above, I had a jack underneath just in case, but the engine didn't budge at all. Having two sets of hands to place the bracket assembly up in there and get the bolts started was a big help too.

I was unsure so did one side at a time. Sounds like with a jack, you are safe either way.

Flat on the ground, handlebar can not even touch the ground. 8) But if u fly over the screen, and and you somehow catch the screen with your knee...than it's a different kind of trouble. ::013::

WOW.... I wouldn't have thought that would have been that "fragile" ? You just caught your knee on the shield or knee in the dash ?

Late October, I order a set of the Givi's from Amotostuff. They turned out to be back-ordered.
So I ordered another set from Revzilla. Again, they got back-orderd!

So, I stopped there. And waited.

The first set to finally arrive was the set from Revzilla. Mounted them. Perfect. Me happy.
Second set arrived just a few days later. Didn't need them. So shipped them off to one of our fellow posters and ST owners on this board.
They were defective. Welded up wrong at the manufacturer.

It was getting close to Christmas and the vendor was going to close for the holidays. So to make things easy for EVERYBODY, I purchased a THIRD set and had them shipped to the unlucky fella. They arrived quickly. They were perfect. He was happy. I was happy. and he shipped the defective ones back to the vendor.

Point behind the post is that the vendor will not give a credit for the SECOND set (first from them) until GIVI gives them, the vendor, a credit. :(

HUH?

I didn't purchase anything from GIVI.

Also note, I even offered to just take an in-store credit towards purchasing more goods from the vendor.

What gives these days? I had no problem pulling out my wallet and reducing the risk for the vendor to ZERO$ when the product was defective.

Anyways, not a life or death situation. In fact, I think the GIVI's are worth double what they cost. But I still thought it would be good for my ST brothers to beware of poor vendor behavior.

Cheers
