GIVI crash bars

My crash bars arrived today. Now all I need is a motorcycle to put them on

I called the dealer today because it's been about two weeks since my order. I was holding my breath as I expected the dealer to say, "Hey I was just about to call you and tell you it's in." Instead, I got a call back from him five minutes later telling me Yamaha is not shipping any more until mid-May. Damn it!!

He's a very reputable dealer or I would look further into it. I guess I am just gonna have to be patient.

Why the lack of availability? I roll into any Yami dealer here in So Cal and there is an s10 sittin there. Why the shortages elsewhere?

That's a good question. Only one dealer in the Phx valley I contacted has them and they want 16, 500 for one. The out of state deals have lower OTD prices but I would have to pay 1000 in sales tax when I registered it here. When you add in travel expenses, etc, my order deal of 14, 800 OTD is about right. Two of the dealers in town seem clueless on how to even order one. Very, very strange.

not a bad install, not the best fitting (angles on center pieces to side bars not right), and dummy broke a 6mm bolt off in the chassis. Guess I am drilling that out tomorrow.

There have been some changes in Givi land. Two months ago I purchased the bars from Amotostuff and they were delivered the same as all the other ones I've seen here. Today the bars ordered from Revzilla arrived. They are the same model number, but they had some extra pieces.

I don't know if anyone else has received this extra "bling." I know it wasn't included in my February order.

Hi, possible to hv a close up picture of the plugs into the holes?

Or is there any part number?

As I had mine recently frm my local Givi distributor here in Singapore, & I sense that it should be from one of the early batches frm Givi.

Wana show the distributors and see whether they could get it so I can plug mine too.

I'll be damned - never noticed that before! The earlier bars did not have that!!

Those are just a couple pieces of plastic that screw on together, didn't use em on mine.

Did you call Givi out in NC, or did you email them like I did? I can see if e-mailed it could easily get lost in the shuffle...

I talked to them on the phone - GiviUSA in NC. They asked for a picture of the caps which I sent them. He then agreed to obtain a set for me and mail them - but I still have not received them.

Very cool - I've worked with them over the phone on a warranty replacement issue for my luggage rack on the S10. Subscribed to this thread, so if you can, post up when you receive them so I can give them a ring, too.

Hey Rod, if those don't show up or don't work well, you can buy rubber plugs at Home Depot and turn them to fit. fills the holes. They could be painted also..
