According to the service manual, at low speeds only a slight pressure is applied to the rear brake, also says ubs only
works after the bike is moving, if you stop then release the brake and reapply no pressure is sent to the rear.
it doesn't sound like you would have any rear brake backing out.

Put bike on center stand remove rear tire, put blocks under final drive leaving about 2in gap.
Put a jack under the skid plate and raise the front far enough to remove the front tire.
The block will keep it from going too far.

Mine did the same thing last week, I was unable to find any harness damage but I did notice the plug on the left bulb didn't fit very tight.
When I wiggled the plug the light would come on, so I bent the tabs on the bulb out slightly until the plug was snug. It's been working fine since.

In your photos it looks like the pickup rotor is positioned about 1 tooth counterclockwise from the one in Gregs write up. Were the cam sprocket timing marks horizontal when you took that picture? Could you be off a tooth on the crank sprocket?
