Top box lid lock fell out now lost

HF carries the tamper proof tools, there is another tamper proof torx fastener on the passenger grab rails that requires one as well. It's worth having a set in your tool collection.

Top box lid lock fell out now lost

I lost one from my pannier last fall on a Vermont trip. It was loctited in and still came out. They aren't getting any cheaper! I made a useable opener out of a screwdriver handle when I stopped for the night at my brothers place. It works great and I haven't bothered to buy a new lock yet.

Leo Vince SBK slip on for sale

I've got a Leo Vince SBK Carbon Fibre slip on for sale. It came on the bike when I got it, I find it too loud for my liking. It does not have the DB silencer, it wasn't there when I got the bike. Muffler is very light, in great shape too. Asking 150 $, + shipping from Nova Scotia, Canada.

    LL Bean Gore Tex socks...

I've used Air Force issued Gore tex socks for years, they work great, come up to my knees and feet are always ( well water depth dependant) dry. I don't have waterproof boots, they just keep water in. Great find for you!

Best Muffler / end can ?

I'm running a Leo Vince' carbon fibre on mine, light weight, sounds great. It did melt the L/H tail reflector though. I didn't cry over that.

Talk me out of this bike

14's have a different clutch basket, a lot less vibes through the bars, depending on each particular bike, different cam chain tensioner as well. There have been tensioner failures on a few bikes at higher mileages. The 14's have a few more pony's in the engine too. Aftermarket heated grips...

    Clutch Basket Remove/Upgrade/Installation

Just installed a new style basket in my 2012 this afternoon, too bad it is winter in Nova Scotia, gonna have to wait till spring to try it out! Thanks for the info in this thread, made the job painless.

    Yamaha's response to "Hard Start"

Not so fast Canoodian! I've had one instance in Nova Scotia. I think the issue is battery is a little down during the crank. When it happened to me, the bike hadn't been started in a couple weeks, no tender in place. Once I charged the battery I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump and cranked...

    Tents

We just had a hurricane go through Nova Scotia last weekend. I was at the Horizons Unlimited gathering an one thing I noticed was that only two tents rode out the storm. We had gusts of 135 kmh (80ish mph) and only the Marmot tents could take the beating. I know what my next tent will be!

    Madstad postion

Mine doesn't move, but if it did I'd put a star washer inside the adjusting knob where it slides. You can tighten the lower bolt too once you find your sweet spot.

    Madstad postion

I'm 5'9 and have it about half up and 1/3 back, works awesome with the side deflectors.

    Instrument panel glare

I doubt that I am the only one to notice the blinding glare when the sun hits the instrument cluster. Has anyone made a glare shield to mount on the panel? If so, could pics be posted. Is there an aftermarket glare shield available?
