Hi all, in preperation to picking my new XT1200ZE up on the 06th March i am looking at end cans / Mufflers (end can here in the UK !)
The Akra here is shockingly highly priced yet the Yoshi is reasonable.
Can you let me know what you got and how you are getting on with it ?
Not to fussed on BHP or torque but want something that is lighter and sounds better than stock without being to loud.

Beowulf is supposed to be quite reasonable. Do check the direction of the exit pipe though. The Akra points downwards to avoid hot gasses melting the indicators.

My dealer gave me 20% off the cost of the Akra when I bought the bike. :)

The only can that is going to be debated is a can of worms...... Having said that , I too think the AKRA.... is way too expensive. The Arrow gets good reviews and sounds great and performs the best with their headers. The Yoshi is, in my mind, the best bang for the buck as it performs great with a similar sound to the arrow but for cheaper. If you have cats and remove them, then I am sure the results with the Yoshi will match the arrow full system. The white Bros seem "Tinny" and don't seem to be that popular. Good Luck

Yeah i had Akrapovic on my last R1 and were a work of art and sounded amazing but the Can for the S10 isn't that pretty and the price is almost piss taking.
Beowulf is not a brand i have used before as their stuff seemed a bit 'lower quality' when i looked a few years ago.
The Yoshi does seen like the best compromise on price and sound so far .......

I have the Arrow, bought it over Xmas from Italy via ebay as it was very much cheaper than buying it in the UK, I got their stainless downpipes and the titanium can for £365 all in.

The can has two personalities; both give a deep satisfying growl, but with the db killer in its never over the top, without the db killer its a bit of a hooligan at full chat. The mechanic said he wouldn't fail the mot for it even with the db killer missing.

So reading through the variuos discussions about what exhausts, etc; the only benefit in real terms is a little weight savings, is that it?
If so, then I'll save myself £3-400 and lose 2kg through not eating crap for a month. The bike will run lighter, I'll run lighter and my wallet will stay fatter (figure of speech) I'm married with kids.... ::010::

Yamaha uses Akrapovic on their World Crosser model...seems like a pretty good endorsement.

You can get ~10% more power with a full system, you save a few pounds (pointless on any bike not used for racing), and it subjectively looks and sounds better. I bought mine from Italy at around half the cost of a UK supplier knowing that I'll have the 'fluff' benefits and when I'm done with it I'll get pretty much what I paid for it second hand on ebay.

Never heard of Staintune before - just googled and they look quite good.
they no longer make them for the tenere.
I made my own to fit.
much much better than the two bros I had on previously. Baffle is in out with one set screw, and it sounds like god's plumbing on the gas, and even better off.
Stainless steel so needs zero repacking.

I have a Simmi Tri-oval carbon can on mine (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/simmiperformanceexhausts/_i.html?rt=nc&_pgn=2&_ipg=48), which is decent quality, incredibly light and I met the feller that actually makes them ! Any issues and you simply return the can and Jeff will see you right. It was an easy fit, no forcing or straining and the link pipe and clamp are good quality stainless. They sound superb, louder than stock but fully road legal and not annoyingly loud, just pleasantly louder. Round and oval stainless available too.

To be fair they could do with a much better website in this day & age as they don't actually have the S10 listed yet, best to give them a bell. The only bad bit is that the Simmi badge fell off after prolonged Scottish rain, a Yoshi' one ended up in it's place...

I'm running a Leo Vince' carbon fibre on mine, light weight, sounds great. It did melt the L/H tail reflector though. I didn't cry over that.

Beowulf don't make one for the Super Ten and never have. They kept saying it was being designed and then just seemed to give up on the idea. I have ordered an Akra from a company in Italy for £580 which is way cheaper than I can get it anywhere else. Retail in the UK is £740 and best deal at the dealer was less10% so £74 off.

Staintune with bung in place works great for me on my 2012. Smoothed out the snatch a bit and just enough note so I can hear it.

And at odds with what others say, S10 ans are still current from the factory.
