I was thinking about another pair of boots since mine now leak after having them almost ten years. They are in perfect condition...and broken in! I came across LL Beans Goretex socks on line. Went and tried them on yesterday. Nice and high. Looks like they are exactly what I am looking for. I had to go to an outlet to get a pair size 13. I bought this size for my son. Normally I wear a size 13 but they run large...a size 12 fit perfectly. If you are having an issue with your feet getting wet while riding, etc., you might give these a try. I figured thirty or so dollars is much cheaper than a new pair of boots for three or...five hundred.
Have a nice holiday.

Have you tried them in wet conditions yet to see how well they repel water?
I have used this stuff for years in my backpacking days, the new tube is much better than the jar was.
You need to shake and massage the contents at first to mix the stuff together, get a small paint brush and work it in to the nooks and crannies of your boots.
Clean your boots well get dirt and dust off them before applying.

Thanks for posting that Ramseybella, I use Nixwax once a year on my riding gear when I wash them to re-proof them, never had a 'leak' issue.

the Gore-Tex socks DO work, for both keeping the water out AND adding an extra layer for warmth...

I also managed to get free 're-water proofing' when I had my boots resoled at the beginning of the season,
maybe I should stopping dragging a sole like those moto-cross riders do.....

I've used Air Force issued Gore tex socks for years, they work great, come up to my knees and feet are always ( well water depth dependant) dry. I don't have waterproof boots, they just keep water in. Great find for you!
