I was just curious where other had there Madstads adjusted to....I find the best for me is about 1/2 up and 3/4 of the way back towards me...I am running a MRA (standard) and wing wings...I was surprised that I didn't want the shield pushed out away from me, as I have hear stories on the forum of people adding washer to the stock with good effect...

I am running the stock shield just over one half of the way up on the Madstad bracket. I have the angle set one third of the way back, so quite a bit more upright than yours. I also have the Yamaha wind deflectors. I'm 5'10" and use an Arai RX-Q helmet. With this set up, it's quiet and smooth.

I'm 5'9 and have it about half up and 1/3 back, works awesome with the side deflectors.

I've only had mine on for a few days (with MRA Vario touring screen). I started with it swept back toward me, but that didn't work at all. I now have it at about 20 degrees from vertical (very upright) and that seems to be good. I'm 6' even 34" inseam, and have it about midway height wise. Never had one of those little spoilers to play with up top before so still experimenting with that.

I had a Madstad bracket on my KLR with their 20" adventure windshield. Loved it but that setup flexed a lot over bumps (mounted to plastic on the KLR). No way it would have cut it off road. Not all that different on the Tenere. The shield bounces around a bit. I was planning to mount my GPS on the Madstad crossbar but ended up putting it on the left handlebar. Didn't like it bouncing around way out near the windshield above the instrument panel. Despite that minor bitch I love the Madstad solution.

How are you all keeping the windshield to stay in position? Just rode from Idaho to Miami and no matter what I did the screen always slid back. Parabellum screen. No pocket at all. I'd throw it away and go back except it saved my bacon.

When I broke the plastic wind shield mount tabs on the trip the mad draft bracket provided enough rigidity along with some duct tape and wire to hold everything together.

So for me, down all the way, back all the way and not happy.

When I first got my Madstad bracket and was trying different heights and angles, it would sometimes loosen up while riding. But now that I have it in the place I like, it has stayed put. I check the tension every other day or so, but the knobs are tight and it stays put even in strong head winds and side gusts. It seems to have settled into place.

Mine doesn't move, but if it did I'd put a star washer inside the adjusting knob where it slides. You can tighten the lower bolt too once you find your sweet spot.

I don't have the Madstad - but I do have the WASP adjuster -

I like keeping the left side tightener just tight enough to move the whole screen for complete coverage of air or no coverage.

In hot weather it is invaluable
