Well it's coming!

Here are a couple sneak peeks at the second prototype. This is the final "production" prototype. This muffler was exclusively designed for the Tenere. They went with a modified new version of the RS-4. This is actually a Dirt Bike muffler. The muffler options should be the same as the RS-4 with 3 muffler options: Aluminum, Titanium, or Carbon Fiber. All of these options will have Carbon tips. The prototype in the photo is made from just basic materials.

From what I have been told the testing is over and production has started. They should go on sale late July or August. Can't wait to get mine.

Any updates Longboard? Bring us up to speed on the Yoshimura for the Super T...

Thanks for your part in helping to bring this exhaust to actuality. If they are now into production, are there performance numbers you can share yet?
::026:: on the thanks. I still say great things are worth the wait. I am looking forward to this as well don't you know.

What is up with this? Nothing on the Yosh site. Any update? Any videos? Sound Clips? ::017::

I just called their office in Chino CA to inquire about the Super Tenere exhaust. The lady was helpful and found a part number under their R&D listing but she said it would be at least 8 weeks. So for now it looks like it's going to be a while. BUT it is going through the process.

It will be nice to see a pipe from Yosh for the Tenere. I am holding out because the cost of a Yosh pipe is usually less than other quality brands. Just tying to save a bit of cash!

I loved the sound of the Yoshi on the SV. (with earplugs on long trips).

I don't quite know how they did it but it made a very deep note at low revs and had a nice resonance at high revs. Sort of like two bikes in one. It was very musical. The harmonics were great.

I hope the time frame has something to do with getting it just right and nothing to do with dust.

I see in the prototype picture it had a straight back outlet that had melted the plastic license plate. I called the China office which is above the Chino, CA guys and although they couldn't speak english, I got the idea that they didn't care about the fender melting by the tone of their voices.
You mean the crinkled paper dealer insert sitting in the plastic frame?

:D

I was eagerly waiting for the finished product to see what it would look like. Honestly, I am a little disappointed.

I love Yoshimura exhausts as I have had them on previous bikes. They sound great and look the part. I'm sure That this one sounds great also but it looks as though they dropped the ball in the looks department. I thought that they were creating an exhaust specific to the XT? If that was the case then why does it hang so low down? It doesnt follow the lines of the heat sheild creating a big gap. There are some manufacturers who take their generic pipe and slap a mid pipe on it and it looks like hell because they had to angle it down so far to avoid melting the turnsignal. Leo Vince supplies a removable turndown removable tip but it looks like an afterthought and isn't pretty. Akrapovic got it right and I bought an Arrow that looks pretty good also. What is the problem with designing a can with a turndown end cap so it mounts where it is supposed to!?

Sorry, I will step down now. ::009::

Actually you are wrong about the Akrapovic. It hangs the lowest of all the cans on the market. Here is a pick from their site so you can compare it to the Yoshimura. The Akrapovic hangs way below the lines of the heat shield.

I stand corrected. You are right. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of the pipe but maybe it could have been better? I bought the Arrow, in part, because it was cheaper thinking that there may be better offerings down the road.

I've got love for Yoshimura pipes and I am super excited to see/hear a video of it mounted up from you with your impressions. I am sure will be awesome!

Congrats!

Why not just remove the heat sheild?
It looks like it would only be protection for a pillion rider...
