Ok Ok don't shot me!

My bike was at Yosh for a long time. Once they took it they ran into other work and the R&D for the ST was put on hold for a couple weeks. They called every week to make sure it was cool if they kept it longer. I was fine with that. After weeks of waiting they finished the proto type and sent me pic's and dyno charts. I was surprised to see what they came up with. To be honest it didn't look so good. I sent the photo's to a few ST friends to get their feed back. Once I got the feedback from the others I sent that along with my own back to the Yosh team.

The problem was they were trying to use a universal muffler rather then fabricate or create a new design. It just didn't sit right or look right on the bike. So after I sent them the feedback they made the decision to go back to the drawing board and to create a new "made for the T" muffler ::012::. Unfortunately they have some other projects more pressing right now so it is going to get pushed back for now.

Good news is that when they get back at it the second one should be a real winner.

Thats the story folks. Sorry for not getting back sooner. Please don't ask for the photo's as they don't want them shown for now.

That is great news they are going back to the drawing board on this project. They have SO MUCH more to offer to the public. IMOP they could have one of the best looking systems for the ST on the market... The one they offered on your bike looked like total poo-poo... I'm looking forward to the new / new system they come out with and YOU KNOW the can I hope they use (should use)... That would be bad ass !!!! Post when you have more info.... Should be awesome ! ::008::

Well it's coming!

Here are a couple sneak peeks at the second prototype. This is the final "production" prototype. This muffler was exclusively designed for the Tenere. They went with a modified new version of the RS-4. This is actually a Dirt Bike muffler. The muffler options should be the same as the RS-4 with 3 muffler options: Aluminum, Titanium, or Carbon Fiber. All of these options will have Carbon tips. The prototype in the photo is made from just basic materials.

From what I have been told the testing is over and production has started. They should go on sale late July or August. Can't wait to get mine.

I know the RS-4 but thats a shorty compact muffler the S10 is going to need to be longer so the sound will be different.

I'm surprised the didn't point it downward more...it definitely is pointing hot gases at the blinker.

...not sure it is following the lines of the heat shield, sadly.

if it did it would line up almost directly into the blinker.

perhaps they'll pull it up a tick and bend the nozzle down.??

I am still interested.

Does it need to be repacked at any time??

The end cap you see in the photo is not the finished product. They are creating a "made for Tenere" cap to address the issues you are all talking about.

Yes, this one sits a little low but if you look at my Arrow it also sits below the shield. Hard to tell since I carved my shield up you can get the idea.

Like I said it is "based" on the RS-4 design. Obviously the length is longer which get the sound they are looking to achieve.

Lastly, who needs those giant ugly turn signals and reflectors :D

I've owned two different Yoshimura exhausts on two different bikes in the past and from those experiences I would say expect it to be A+ quality, 100% compatible with a stock bike and sound awesome. The cans I've had in the past have been louder than stock but well under obnoxious. I can't flippin' wait!

My wife likes Yoshi pipes. Her last SV had a Yoshi on it. Maybe I'll end up with one for my birthday or x-mas... Maybe

Ok I'm in. Been waiting to see the end result and it looks good! Reflectors and the big turn signals are gone already so no issue if they raise the pipe up a bit. Way to go... ::008::

I've been very pleased with Yoshis on several SV650's I've owned over the years...high quality, great sound and a removeable baffle if that's what you desire...make mine titanium.

Hopefully someone can set up a group buy when they are released....

Thanks for your part in helping to bring this exhaust to actuality. If they are now into production, are there performance numbers you can share yet?
