Mounted my Jessie side cases. Easy to do in about an hour. They look and work great. Then took momma for a ride down to Luchenback for lunch and a beer. It was only 101 so felt like a cold front.

I rode it 240 miles today. 30 were forest service roads. I got the bike all dirty and heard some rocks hit the skid pan. Good riding today. Oh, tailbone is hurting from the seat.

Did what we'er supposed too ::014:: Loaded up my now fully farkled S10 and went riding  Took the North Klondike hwy to Dawson City Yukon, Then onto the Top of the World hyw to Chicken Ak., Taylor hyw to Tok ak. And that was only yesterday. Stayed overnight in Tok at www.thompsonseagleclaw.com. If you're riding up here , do yourself a favor and stay here!!!!
Today I road back home to Whitehorse Yukon. Just a quick overnite ride in my backyard (Did I mention I LOVE living here)
BTW S10 was stellar on all the road surfaces & I found them all yesterday & today --& saw 315km before low fuel warning the only took 17.2ltrs.

what's your avg speed??

I did avg of 110kph (70mph), mixed of city and highway riding.. (touring mode)
only manage to pump 18.3L at 373kms.. reserve had already started..

i reckon the reserve trip starts at 5L or more..
didnt wanna take chances hence pumped petrol..

Jim,

That looks great !! Good job.... I have a few of those around the shop, Might have to pop one on..... Comes in handy for sure !

What I did to mine today:

When I made the racks to hold my bags I added a few extra hold down loops for bags, Etc in the future. Ive been looking for these hold down straps with the one way metal lock-type tab on them.. I found them last night, and then promptly added them to the wrack....... LOL at 11:30 at night... LOL

Joined a friend and some KTM guys doing a bit of trail riding. Was a bit of a disaster as it was very wet and muddy and I still have my original 'road' tyres on. Wasn't very cleaver! Dropped it twice!! :( (only slow speed drops as the front wheel lost grip but very sad!)

Road it pretty hard. avg 100-120kph on the dirt and rarely dropped below 125 on the tarmac& spent a little time at 165 O:). Had a vicious headwind back past Kluane Lake and saw low fuel warning on at 289km, rode it 25km on reserve and put in 18lt. I always fill on the side stand btw
I am an overweight X-bicycle rider. So I think this seat is pretty good. over 1500k in2 days and I never had a sore butt. Not crazy about the gripper cover though

I'm in it deep today!

Heated grips are going on, Touratech windshield bracket, GPS, XM, fuse block, electrified tank bag!

I'd rather be riding and, because I am anal when I run wires, it will be a couple days of running, checking, verifying, etc. but it will be nice to get this done.

Took it to the dealer today for the 600 mile check, except I'd already done the oil/filter changes. Had them go over the rest checking everything's tight and in spec. Also my chance to evaluate their service dept. They seemed pretty decent.

Turned over 1500 miles on the way home (600 was a week ago Friday, and far away from the dealer so that's why I did the oil myself).

Installed the Yamaha side wind deflectors and a set of Hyperlites when I got home. Ordered a pair of Fiamms and an EB horn relay kit.

So, today I found out how wonderful, HA, it is to have a southwest facing garage when it is already 99 degrees outside. Yea, we'll try again tomorrow MORNING!!!! Left side grip is on, GPS mounted and rough wiring for XM and power complete, XM mount and XM antenna in place. It's starting to come together nicely!! Love teh huge and cavernous electrical panel to work with. Plenty of room for my fuse block, relay and assorted wires for all things farkle.
