Jeez that belly pan is a serious piece of kit. I'd go for that if I were considering real hostile terrain. Looks good and offers a huge amount of protection.

I know this thread is a bit old...but I've finally started getting more "adventurous" with my Tenere recently and really want to get a skid plate before it is "too late".

I was originally sold on the Rumbux, but I like to "Valentino Rossi" my Tenere quite often and the reduced cornering clearance is a big concern to me.

JaimeV,

Does the ACD plate reduce cornering clearances? Do the pegs still fold up first?

Any chance pictures exist with a Tenere laid down to show what touches first...pegs or skid?

Should get my ACD tomorrow, can not wait to try it out......

It will enhance the look considerably but most importantly it seems to be a tough one as well!

Good company to deal with.
Hmm...I sent Cedric an email a few days back...still waiting for a response.

Maybe Cedric has been busy with my plate....
He has been really good to respond to my e-mails, anyway this plate seems to be worth waiting for, 2 days delivery from Spain to Australia = impressive but since weekend is in between I suppose it will take a day or two extra.

Laying out the pegs touch first but this is not a proper test because the suspensions are not compressed.
I can’t help you much, I never touch the ground cornering but my bike has longer and harder suspensions than stock so is not comparable with yours.
In order to increase the ground clearance, I asked ACD to build the skid plate following the engine shape. But if I’m honest with you, I was always thinking in off road use, not in tarmac.

But I think that if you are Valentino no problem… you must be Marquez touching with your elbow to have a problem!!

I`m sure I will like it, got a nice forest track to try it out. Big rocks/boulders should give it a good workout.
Take care... is only an aluminium plate, not a panzer!! :D

But you see: it works ::003::

I'm running an aftermarket suspension that should keep me up in the travel when on road also. I also understand how to move my butt and get this pig moving through the twisties.

Cedric got back to me. It looks like shipping is pretty painful from Europe to US. It seems like he is working on a solution for later this summer.

It took longer time than expected to receive it but got it yesterday and it was worth waiting for, what a nice piece of kit!

Just wonder if you need to have it on the side stand for installation and later to remove it for oil/filter changes or can you use the center stand?

Cheers.

To install it you need to replace the centre stand OEM bolts for the ones supplied. Use the side stand when do it.
To change oil the bike can be in the centre stand.

Dunno... I preffer the natural look like the one on the Jaime's monster. Anyway, now that Croatia is part of EU, i'am waiting for the miracle to happen. 80$ is peanuts compared to what i have to pay for shipping, and we are "close by". That is the only obstacle between my s10 and acd...and maybe this color. :)
