I put the stock bulbs in the styrofoam container the cyclops came in and tossed in the top box. So far, 2k miles, so good.
Maybe just 10k on one of the lights but only about 2k on the one that was replaced.Cycledude said:How many miles on your Cyclops kit ? I would have contacted Cyclops to see what if anything they might be willing to do for you. During the day the stock bulbs are fine but for night riding they just ain’t good enough for me.

Signatures ??? we don't need no stinking signatures !!!
Yeah, those sound like the old generation ones. The current ones are 4000 lumens/bulb (8000 total):Mellow said:Purchased 2/8/2016
CIL-LED-H7-S10 6000 lumen
So, old ones I suppose?
True. I purchased mine in 07/16 and received 3,200 lumen bulbs. My first failure was 11/16 and replaced with another 3,200 lumen bulb even though Cyclops was already selling new 4,000 bulbs. My second failure in 06/16 replaced with a 4,000 bulb and then my other 3,200 bulb failed and replaced with a 4,000 bulb in 07/17 less than a week before my 1 year warranty expired. So now I have both 4,000 lumen bulbs and hoping these last longer.WJBertrand said:Yeah, those sound like the old generation ones. The current ones are 4000 lumens/bulb (8000 total):
Another true statement. I've been following the Cyclops issue closely and have not read or heard of a single 4,000 lumen bulb failure yet. They've been selling and shipping them for one year now so a very good sign. 4,000 lumen bulbs are different design and construction. They do not share the same power module either so most likely a different (and better) supplier for Cyclops.WJBertrand said:So far I believe all the reported failures have been among the older generation kits.
They do and they did honor their one year warranty quite satisfactorily, including shipping both ways. Their customer service was incredible, phone call and email of failed light output and I had a new bulb in 2-3 days. I guess I'm lucky as I ride more than most. So my one year of Cyclops ownership racked up 40K miles and enough failures to get the upgraded bulbs without cost. But 50% off discount to get a 4,000 lumen bulb is still a good deal IMO. I do understand your frustration though, if not for their new 4,000 lumen bulbs I would probably have burnt through my final two 3,200 replacements received before my warranty expired.Mellow said:Well, IMO if your first design is crap you should honor it 100%.. I won't be spending an additional 50% of the cost for new ones.
About 9,000 smiles currently on my Cyclops kit so maybe some bad news right around the corner, I sure hope not, I believe this is the last month of warranty.Mellow said:Maybe just 10k on one of the lights but only about 2k on the one that was replaced.
If I can't depend on something as important as the lighting when I'm on a tour then it's a no-go for me... the halogen ones may not be great but they are better than the cyclops when they dim to about 10% light output... my camping headlamp probably would have worked better at that point.
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see the true longevity of the product but for me it wasn't good at all.
