Nice light to be sure, however, I'd be concerned about the ingress of water into the lamp housings with the absence of the domes.

Glen may be able to respond to this but I hear the manufacturer demos the bulbs by running them underwater. That doesn't address the issue of water getting into the housing though. Glen?

Even if the lights are waterproof, what about the other supporting components, like the fan motor and connectors? I really want LED headlights on my bike but this makes me nervous.

I currently run HID, but would like to move over to LED. But I won't run with out the back covers. IMOP that's just asking for a whole lot of dirt and crap down into some really expensive head light fixture. When they refine the set up with the use of a stock sealed system I'll be giving them a try. Looking forward to it.

Anyone running these for extended periods yet? My $50 halogen bulbs took a crap already and I need replacements. This looks good and should easily outlast the 2 months the halogens lasted. Lots of reviews online with guys running the Cyclops for over 10,000 miles and still going strong.

I installed these with the covers in place. I just removed the cage around the fan and drilled a small hole in the bottom of the covers.

Any pics?

Assuming the covers get created or the above is a viable option do the lights create enough heat to dissipate moisture in the housing?

For the past 6 months, I've been using the Cyclops LED headlight bulb in my DR650. I was not able to trim and re-install the rubber boot. It made me a little nervous, because I don't want crap - dirt, mud, bugs, my blood, etc. - getting into the headlight housing.

6 months and 5000 very dirty miles later, it hasn't been an issue. Maybe a little bit of dust has crept into the lens, but not even enough to warrant cleaning. Granted, a DR650 ain't a Tenere, but I wouldn't worry too much.

I just purchased a 2015 Tenere and was interested in brighter headlights.
I could find no where in the owners manual the size for a replacement bulb.
Does anyone know if the 2015 is still an H7 bulb? -JEP-

It should be the same as previous models, but if you remove the access cap on the back of the headlight, it is embossed which size bulb in it.

It's been about 6 months since I installed the lights, still no issues with moisture(or anything else) getting in the housing. I've even been in a 180 mile 2+ hour downpour up here in the Pacific Northwest. These lights are amazing! Oh and I let Darryl at Cyclops borrow my light covers for measurements to make some that will fit over his fans. He's tried once and wasn't happy with the result. I'm sure he will get it figured out.

Thanks for the up date cajun. Let us know when caps get made.

Re: H7 LED lights from Cyclops Adventure Sports

having a look at their website, these are well priced and appear well built, and only draw half the current, so it will tax the stock wiring less (especially if your harness is upgraded)

If my ddm tuning kit ever gives up the ghost, these would probably fit the bill nicely. For the time being, they are holding up very well, and are excellent light. I was able to modify the stock covers to make the hid lights fit and water tight. for those of you who didn't update their harness, have a look towards the bottom of the blog post
