My curiosity has also been sparked by two concerns raised by the idea of fitting of these LED lights to my S10. One, as mentioned earlier, is relating to any heat build up that may occur when fitted with the enlarged covers, as the fans have no way to draw any cool air when they are fitted.

The other issue is, how are the ballasts connected to the bulbs when the covers are fitted? I'm assuming that the two ballasts cannot be fitted within the headlight housing itself, so there a hole or slot in the covers that the wiring can pass through?

Got them in last night after some moments of confusion and a call to Cyclops. :-[

Difference is amazing. ;D
Now I just need to figure out how to post a pic here... hmmm

My instagram is rbart44 if anyone wants to see a pic last night.

Greg at Cyclops ::012:: was great help and even called back this morning to make sure everything was a go.

My confusion was that the tabs that are on the mounting ring i thought went to the north or 12 o clock position. Attempting to put or force the retaining clip onto it was near impossible. But looking at the other bulb, I saw that it goes to the 7 o clock position and the retaining clip goes back to its home and keeps the mounting ring held for the bulb to be placed in.

Aside from that, the only other slight problem was getting the extra wire and case that is attached to the LED into the headlight housing. I found that in the 4 o clock position around the bulb was a place to get that stuffed in for the new caps to be put on.

Liked your pic on IG and commented. I'm one of those waiting to adopt due to lacking the covers. Too expensive not to have them.

I got the whole kit from Cyclops. I just totally forgot to take the picture with the caps on. They worked perfect with no issues what so ever. I think that's why I forgot.

AV geek,
You can tuck the little rectangle box thats between the plug and the light in-between the inner and outer housing of the lights like this....

Installed mine last night. No problems and they look great. IMO, even better than the DDM Tuning 35W HIDs and Morimoto Elites with upgraded bulbs I tried. Best of all there's no having to stuff ballasts/igniters or drilling caps like all the HID solutions.

Like all H7 bulb bases in our S10's, the notch goes at 7 o'clock like someone mentioned (there's nowhere in the manual or service manual explaining this, so a newbie heads up) ;)

Get a little creative stuffing the right angle spade connector and the little box for each bulb inside the housing and make sure you're not wrapping or pinching any wires on the heatsink fins or fan itself. I had luck stuffing the boxes towards the center of the headlight housing and the right angle headlamp connector more towards 6 or 7 o'clock. You'll have to fidget a little bit, but once it's inside the housing it moves about freely, you shouldn't have to force anything.

Take care making your bulbs are seated flush, you'll know pretty quick if they're sitting cock-eyed in the housing. ::008::

Glad I waited for the caps - makes it all look OEM ::017::

Stopped in at Cyclops and picked some new LEDs up for the S10. Ive been using Daryls lights for years sledding. They have gotten me out of the deep back country many many times. Best helmet lights bar none in my book. Also ran his Optimus LEDs for the last year and they sure are bright ! I have heard a few guys have put these lights in crooked so make sure when u install them they are nice and straight. I will post some ride reports from this current trip as i get a chance to use them more.

I asked Cyclops that question about the fan as was told they will outlast the LED bulb. They are high quality fans compared to the stuff in computers. I was wondering the same thing
