I talked with Daryl about the fan. He said they have had zero issues with the H7 fans. He showed me a bulb they burn all day long with a fan that they disconnected for testing purposes. Burns as bright as day 1 and even in 100+ heat it just keeps on ticking along. It looked pretty heated and discolored. Still works. Im sure the bulb life will be very good.

Installed mine last night. No problems and they look great. IMO, even better than the DDM Tuning 35W HIDs and Morimoto Elites with upgraded bulbs I tried. Best of all there's no having to stuff ballasts/igniters or drilling caps like all the HID solutions.

Like all H7 bulb bases in our S10's, the notch goes at 7 o'clock like someone mentioned (there's nowhere in the manual or service manual explaining this, so a newbie heads up) ;)

Get a little creative stuffing the right angle spade connector and the little box for each bulb inside the housing and make sure you're not wrapping or pinching any wires on the heatsink fins or fan itself. I had luck stuffing the boxes towards the center of the headlight housing and the right angle headlamp connector more towards 6 or 7 o'clock. You'll have to fidget a little bit, but once it's inside the housing it moves about freely, you shouldn't have to force anything.

Take care making your bulbs are seated flush, you'll know pretty quick if they're sitting cock-eyed in the housing. ::008::

Glad I waited for the caps - makes it all look OEM ::017::
So how is the lighting, both brightness and beam pattern? Better than the Morimoto Elites? I find them to be superb in both respects.

I thought I would post up a quick review of these bulbs as I recently installed these along with the replacement caps on my tenere. In summary, great light output and great customer service.

For about a year and a half I had a set of morimoto elite bulbs on my tenere. I decided to give these LEDs a try as I was never really satisfied with the light output of the HID system. I was still getting dark spots in the light output similar to regular halogen bulbs. Compared to the HIDs, the light beams are brighter and more evenly distributed within the illuminated area. Cutoff still remains sharp as well. Plus there's an added bonus that the LEDs plug directly into the stock harness and can be contained completely within the headlight assembly (with the new caps). This was huge given that I was able to remove the mess of wires, 2x ballasts, and 2x relays that I had to zip tie and squeeze into the cracks and crevices of the tenere fairing.

If you're looking for a literally plug and play upgrade to the headlights that outperforms HIDs on both light output and ease of installation, this is it. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the before/after comparison, but it is noticeable.

The only negative thing I have to say about this LED headlight, but more so about LEDs in general is that I wish the color temperature would be closer to 4500K like HIDs vs. 5000-6000K. I find it easier to discern objects at night when the light is less blue and more on the yellow side. That is the one advantage HIDs have over LEDs and (with the right projector headlight) can blow away LEDs easily. I had a set of bixenon morimoto projector headlights + HIDs retrofitted into my CBR which was literally night and day compared to the tenere headlights + all of the auxillary lights I've added to make up for the crappy tenere headlight design.

The first batch of caps I got had a flaw which did not allow the caps to lock securely against the headlight housing. One cap came off while I was riding. Since then, Cyclops has modified the cap design and shipped me a new set free of charge within a day after I e-mailed to let them know of the issue. I even got a phone call to confirm if USPS priority mail would be OK for shipping. I'm glad to be buying from a company that looks to improve their products and ensure their customers are supported.

yes, any H-7 from an auto parts store will do but Cyclops makes the good stuff that lasts MUCH longer and is a HUGE improvement over stock.

I ordered the kit, and ran in to some trouble getting the covers to fit on my '12. 1 of the three tabs that click in to the headlight housing is in the wrong spot by about 1cm. in order to get the cover to fit i had to break the tab off. not sure if headlight housings changed at some point, or if maybe the cad file for the cover has a small error

Do you need to cram that little power supply brick inside the headlight housing?

Yes, the box gets crammed into the headlight housing. There is just enough room

So did you contact the manufacturer to see how the error arose. Would be useful to know for future buyers where the problem lies.

I did contact them. After sending over some pictures of the issue, they found that the file used to generate the mold for the covers had an error. They are fixing the issue and said they would send me out new covers. ::008::

Installed this kit today and took a ride down a dark twisty road tonight to check it out. I had not ridden the Tenere in at least a month so did not have the beam pattern of the stock headlight in recent memory to compare with, but the Cyclops pattern is definitely longer and wider. I got flashed a couple of times by oncoming cars with the low beams on, and that has never happened to me before on the Tenere. That concerns me a little, but on the dark twisty road the visibility was great. High beams are good as well. Not eyeball-scorching like some of the LED light bars and accessory lights, but plenty for normal on-road use. Install was not bad. Requires some fiddling and contortion, but this was only a 3-4 f-bomb install. And a couple of those were just figuring out the stock headlight lamp clip that I'd never messed with before.

Also installed a Cyclops LED kit on my 500 EXC today. It was very tight squeezing everything in with the wad of cables and connectors behind the headlight on that bike. But a huge improvement over the stock headlight.

Darryl and his wife at Cyclops were great. You can tell they'll have your back if there are problems. Love supporting small family businesses like that.

Re: H7 LED lights from Cyclops Adventure Sports

I was doing research about Leds for the supertenere for days. That's the first reason that I found this awesome forum. I know a lot about Leds Cree and hid and etc. But is the first time that I found a optic housing that have a cap and so little space for the light (and I didn't wanted to cut it) so I ordered the little overprised led lights from cyclops. The led and driver quality are awesome. I didn't like the fan. I don't like fans. They die easily... Buy I disconnect one and test the temperature and work pretty good. OK I'm on South Florida so in summer is going to be another story. Anyway. The light works fine. Was a little difficult. But in the end they fit. I'm not really sure about the driver been loose insert the optics but they are pretty tight. I will dissemble in couple of weeks and check how is everything. About the light. Is like the hid xenon. But more equal. Makes ends. Not foggy on the end. So I really like it. It would be nice for others if someone scan 3d the caps and print it on 3dprinter. More chipper. Ill add some pictures

My goldwing uses Four H7 bulbs ,two bulbs for low beam and two bulbs for high beam. in my opinion it has the best headlights of anything I ever drove but quite a few goldwing owners do switch to hid lights. Bought a Tenere but haven't got a chance to ride it yet so I'm curious about the headlight performance.

I got these last week and installed. I have an issue with mine... in that I install the ring just fine, it's seated, and then the retaining clip, all good so far... I insert the bulb and turn clockwise to lock into the ring and that turning motion, makes part of the housing push against the retaining clip and the ring then pushes downward on the top... so my normal low beam setting is useless and my high beam setting is probably closer to where my low beam was before... I know I can just adjust the light upward but I'm not sure if I'll be at the max adjustment, doesn't seem like anyone else had that issue and I'm on a '14 so maybe the retaining clip is bigger? Will call cyclops today.

I guess... I put in a regular bulb then marked the line on the wall where the oem and led were hitting and it was the same.. so I think I'm good... my friend following me this past weekend said he really couldn't see the leds very well but could be the different color was just different to him and I may still angle them upwards... I'm also going to put some amber D2 lights using the skene controller on so it may not be an issue.. I also need to see what they are like at night... thanks for asking.

When I put them on my '13, I really did not see a big difference during the day, but about a 30-40% increase at night. What convinced me that they were worth it, is when I am splitting traffic, people seem to notice me a lot more, a very noticeable difference.

I fitted a set of Cyclops replacement LEDs this afternoon and went for a test ride tonight.

The install was ok, just lots of fiddling. The right one was harder to jam the heat sink/block thing into the available space but it does fit. The replacement covers are hard to fit, but eventually with a combination of brute force and safecracking they do go on and twist to a good stop.

I'm disappointed with the performance though. Shining against a wall there is a good cut-off, but still with some peripheral spill. I took that as a very good sign as I don't want lots of light blasting everywhere when on low beam, but that nice bit of spill becomes very useful when cornering.

I was simply disappointed with the overall light output. I currently have 10 (ten!!!) auxiliary lights fitted to my bike. I have them sorted and don't need any advice on their use. 8 of those aux lights are triggered by the high beam only with 4 x 35W LEDs on one switch and 4 x 10W LEDs on another switch. I have 2 x 10W LEDs switched by the low beam so they are always on, pointed down and outward toward the wildlife on the edges of the road and never seem to irritate oncoming motorists.

I installed the Cyclops LEDs to simply give better than OEM halogen performance so that when I dip from high beam to low beam and 18000Lm of auxiliary lights go off I'm not staring into a big black hole. From the riders seat I'd wager that more light comes out of my 2 x 10W $20 gutter lights than the new Cyclops set ::007::

The other reason I installed them was to cheat a few watts of power (2x25W Cyclops vs 2x55W OEM), but I found no difference on my voltmeter as far as the whole bike is concerned.

At least now all 12 lights are the same colour ::008::
