Wow Maddog that is like one of those home make over shows. You take the prize with that set up. That reminds me of the guy in FL that did something similar when his seat was off being done somewhere. How do you like you BMS btw?
I am really liking it. Big improvement for me over stock. I have about 1,000 miles on it now and I can tell it is breaking in to my back side. Just feels right. The one thing that I may change though is the rear seat. I had them make it tall at the front so that I can use it as a bit of support, like a mini drivers backrest. It does work well for that, but I think it is just a tick too far forward. I may send it back for an adjustment. I think I would like them to kind of dish out the front of the rear seat so it allows me to slide back about another 1/2 or 3/4 inch.

Me and ValpoFZ from the forum are headed to the Moonshine Lunch Run tomorrow in southern IL and I told him I would swap seats for a while so he can try out the BMS. I have a feeling I will really appreciate the BMS after going back to a stocker for a few miles! O:)

I'm having my pax seat done as well and like the idea of a little backrest for me but I agree I wouldn't want it pushing me forward. Hey just in case Valpo FZ likes your BMS seat he has until Sun the 15th to get in on the group buy. Have a great and safe ride tomorrow.

Yes I liked it. I am going to call BMS and see if they can do mine when I am out there the first week of May. How do I get in?

Send a PM to pqsqac & Vince will send you the details. The 'deal' ends on the 15th, but BMS might give you some lee-way.

I went to Ar on Wednesday and returned on Saturday. Rode 423 miles up and only stopped for gas. What a great seat!! My butt never got sore, and when I arrived I felt just as good as when I left.

I treated the seat with 303 before I left and that may not have been a good idea.. ::025:: I was sliding pretty bad, and even on engine decompression. Toward the end it got a little better, but still slippery. I was wearing Rallye Pro ll pants, if that makes a difference.
I may have to do something with the slipperiness. Not sure what yet.

I could not have done the first day with my OEM seat much less the consecutive days..

My butt stayed nice and cool, and I don't think I will sweat with the Basket Weave vinyl.

All in all, a very nice seat..

I just got the call from Tammy at BMS, they received my seat yesterday and it is now boxed up and ready to return today.|
Great turn around time, hope I like the seat. I had a BMS seat on my V-Strom is was fantastic, I had a BMS seat on my FJR and it was just so-so.

Sent my seats out today 3 day air. Problem is the weather is perfect for riding! I hope this cures my Monkey Arse. I bet when I was 35 I wouldn't have had an issue w/ the stock seat. I opted for the GripteX since I've ridden off road all my life. When Giptex came out, all my dirt bikes got em. Next I'm looking at adding some Happy Trails luggage. I'll see if my wife notices the seat first. Funny, I've added a few things w/o her noticing, even crash bars but I dont think I'll get the luggage by her ;D

I'm surprised you didn't slip right over the tank and off the bike :D

The basketweave is slippery, but after almost a month mine has settled down and worn off whatever coating was in the vinyl. It is still a bit slippery, but no where near like when it was new. I think in another month the slippery-ness will be gone. Wearing jeans helps with the process it seems, as they are a bit rougher than most riding pants. Or you could velcro some sandpaper or steel-wool to your butt and go ride to ware it off a bit ::012:: ::012::

You guys can have the basket weave concept. The only bike I ever rode with it was my son in law's S40 Suzuki. Granted the S40 is not your top of the line motorcycle, but that seat! Terrible. I don't know who built the seat or why in the world someone saw fit to put it on the bike as my son in law bought the bike used and doesn't know $0.02 about motorcycles, but that one ride for me was enough to say I would never consider basket weave.
Always the bastion of logic and reason I see ;) My Corbin leather basket-weave was just fine, nice and breathable in my 115F temps of the desert. And it was not slippery like the BMS vinyl initially is.

Mine should arrive in Ojai, CA tomorrow sometime so next week I should have a nice grin on my face.

I did 2,000 miles last week heading from TX-OK-AR-MO-IL and back for the Moonshine Lunch Run event. Longest day was 600 miles and my personally-modified seat was getting a bit rough... better than oem but I have a feeling the BMS saddle will be an incredible difference.

Have you retired from riding your ST? I'll let you know early next week on the improvement. My BMS seat arrived yesterday and I am headed out for a 1500 mile long weekend ride shortly.

No, I'm pretty much just trying to put the miles on the S10... I don't want to let go of the ST.. It's tough having more than one bike and I'm not used to it so I do feel like it's just sitting there and someone could take advantage of it and put some $ in my pocket but every time I ride it I just don't want to let it go.. both bikes are great IMO.

Mellow....Nice meeting you at Moonshine. I did an 830 mi. day on the stock seat on a loop to get there and about 2000 total for the weekend. Also no fun! The beads helped IMO. Thanks for the tip on the MCL antenna bracket. I ordered that a couple of days ago. Just returned from UPS Store sending my seat to BMS.

Anyone have the email address for BMS? I shipped the seat today and need to email the photos and order info, but can't find an email address on their site and keep getting voicemail when I call. Thanks.

Here ya go..
billmayersaddles@msn.com

I hate to bring this up, but you were supposed to pack the order sheet in with the saddle.. Also Tammy will make prints of your pics so that in not a problem.
You may want to explain to Tammy what you did, so she can find yours and get your info with your seat.
