    Yamaha Heated Grip Installation

Re: Yamaha Heated Grip Installation - Throttle Housing Debacle I had my dealer do mine and they even messed it up the first time. Very tight throttle. Eventually the wire broke. They had to replace it and then greased it properly. No problems since.

    beadrider seat cover

I have a Beadrider sitting in my closet collecting dust which I tried on my R1200RT at the time. Yes it does flow more air than under your tush. What I didn't like was the when I rolled the throttle hard or hit the brakes hard, my ass would either move backward or forward. To me, that was a...

    Hello from SW Alberta, Canada

Woop! Nice bike. Sucks that you can't get it out with our recent dump of snow. Maybe a chinook will blow thru and you can take it out. Congrats.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

You will love the GPS. I have mine mounted on a Madstad bracket on the Garmin rugged mount and wired to a Twisted Throttle fuseblock/relay. Some vibes in gravel, but tolerable. Basecamp software is a bit of a learning curve though. There is a mega thread over on ADV on the Montana. Great...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Fuel stabilizer, Yamaha ring free, full tank of gas, changed oil with Amsoil, oil filter and put the beast in hibernation. Only have to put on a trickle charger and a quick cleaning. Still have the KLR to ride into the snow season.

    Jesse Top Case parts

Unfortunately they don't have a PDF for installation instructions. Hopefully I can tell you how I mounted mine. You should have gotten a tail mount similar to the OEM tail piece except metal. Remove the OEM tail including removing rubber pads at bottom. Install the Metal tail with included...

Seat Options For a Short Guy ?

Just the one I have shown. They have other models too, but none have the hidden height built in to the boot like this model.

Seat Options For a Short Guy ?

Yea they are steep, but a seat is also expensive. If you change out your bike, the boots will still be in use, if you have a second bike, still good. If you ride your buddies bike, still good. Get it?

Seat Options For a Short Guy ?

Yup, originally made for women, they found a market for us short guys too. Not cheap at $500, but worth every penny. Superb construction.

Seat Options For a Short Guy ?

I'm short. 5'7" with a 30" inseam. This is what I did. Worked great! Gives you 2.3" additional height in the inseam where it counts. Now you can sit on any bike that is taller instead of buying another seat.

Is burning oil in the Tenere a known issue?

After Re-reading your post sportsguy, I believe that maybe your bike isn't quite broken in yet along with having the oil level on the low end and also high revving. I remember reading a post I think in the mega thread in ADV that high rpm's (over 6000 sustained) will burn some oil. I know that...

Is burning oil in the Tenere a known issue?

Yup, drain on side stand. Fill on center stand. I picked up a graduated beaker from my local pharmacist as they can get quite accurate ones +-50 mils. My dealer actually filled it up too much. No bubble in the site glass.

Riding in the rain....what I learned....

This year, all I ever do it seems is ride in the rain. On my recent ride out to Vancouver island and Hyder Alaska, I encountered over 32 hours of rain while riding. Nothing is waterproof when you go over 2 hours in the stuff. Just have to get used to it and tough it out. Now when I commute...
