Hey guys, here is hoping you can help. Twisties had posted his Jesse top case install quite a few months back and I got to see the mounting plate. I also looked at the video and photos from Jesse concerning the Tenere.
Since Twisties post and the stuff on Jesse luggage, it seems like there have been some updates.

This is what Jesse now includes in the package. Below is the replacement for OEM rear carrier. It comes with aluminum stand off spacers similar to the spacers when doing the pannier installation:

below is the part of piece of the quick release plate which should attach via included 4 screws/washers/locknuts.
This is the piece that does not look like Twisties or on Jesse luggage site and does not seem to fit on their tail plate

This is the plate that gets mounted to the bottom of the top case and slides on to the above plate, which I have to assume is a universal fit piece:

and finally this plate(again I assume a universal piece) gets mounted inside of the top bag, where you can use it as a template to drill thru the top bag and permanently fix the sliding plate above with the provided fasteners.

My question is, has anyone else been given the quick release base plate like what I pictured, or did I get sent the wrong part?
One thing I noticed is that Jesse does not provide any instructions with their product and when you are dealing with a variety of parts and fasteners for a world class product, it would be nice for the DIY guy to get some direction!

Hopefully someone can help. I did the searches on Google and nothing seems to come up other than Twisties post being the most similar.
Thanks!

I have this setup as well. That plate is for reinforcement only. It is installed between the bottom of the case and the base mounting plate on the outside of the box. I have pdf directions that I tried to post but the system won't accepted it. I'm not sure PM would work but if you want you can tried PM me and I will attempted to send that way.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kevy 511,
is the plate with all the holes the same as yours? That is the plate I have question on, as it won't mount on the tail piece at all.
Thanks

It looks like it but check the PDF I emailed you. That plate should line up with the holes on the rear rack that's attached to the bike. Then that will be the female to the QRDP plate that will be attached to the box.

Thanks for the PDF. It is how I thought the installation should go, but in my case the plate holes don't align to any of the holes on my tail plate. The only way it would work would be to drill new holes and for the amount of money these things cost, I shouldn't have to do that, it should be easy. I also did send out these photos to my dealer which got the Jesse Luggage items for me and they are looking into it as well. Sounds like the distributor will have a Tenere there to test fit the tail plate to the QDRP system. I will let everyone know how it works out. Stay tuned.

I thought I'd follow up on this thread. The mounting plate that was sent was the wrong one for the Tenere Jesse tail section. I have a new unit coming that will work. Thanks to my dealer and the Canadian distributor for resolving this quickly. ::012::

I'm glad it's working out for you. It's really a good setup... that is, when it's finally setup-ed. ::)

Got the proper rack mount for the quick release plate. Here is the final look.

Now if they only supplied the locking mechanism for the quick release plate, then I wouldn't have to use a nut and washers to secure it!! ::010:: ::010:: ::010::

Unfortunately they don't have a PDF for installation instructions.
Hopefully I can tell you how I mounted mine.
You should have gotten a tail mount similar to the OEM tail piece except metal.
Remove the OEM tail including removing rubber pads at bottom.
Install the Metal tail with included aluminum spacers and fasteners.
Install base plate to tail piece.
If you have the QDRP, you need to temporarily place the top box on the luggage plate and see where you want it situated fore or aft as you need to drill holes on the bottom of the box. I gave mine some added room to give my wife more comfort when sitting at the back.
Drill the holes(check measurements twice before drilling).
Mount the QDRP plate to the bottom of the top box with supplied fasteners and bolts.
Now you can slide the entire assembly on the tail pack plate and lock with either a nut or with the lock mechanism if you ordered it.
I hope this helps.
