The snow cleared for the paved area aound the complex at work, so I did a few laps with the Diapason ECU. Wasn't able to get past 2nd gear within the conifines of the area, but noted a few things.

1. More grunt from low in the RPM range.

2. Doing a roll-on from low speed in 2nd gear, the front comes off the ground once you get into the meat of the midrange power...no snaps of the wrist or sudden application of power. 8)

Can't wait unil the roadways around here clear up, so I can 'test' this further. ::001::
I tried this test today with my recently ECU U reflashed S10 and it does that very nicely. In addition, if I snap it in second gear, you had better be ready, because it is going skyward. Also, I had it flashed for 85-90 octane and I had a tank full of 93 when I put the ECU back in. Today I was able to put 4 gallons of 87 in and it sure seems more responsive, although I only rode it a few miles. More testing tomorrow, but I can see that the major improvement of the reflash is in throttle response and roll on power in the midrange

Pulled it out of the garage. Took the cover off. Unplugged the battery tender. Put key in the ignition and the first press of starter. VROOOOMMMMM. ::015::
I did a quick check of everything and made sure nothing was loose or leaking. I rode for about an hour and had to come home to go to work. Its been too long. ::26::

Good on ya! Must mean the garage door is working. 8)
Nope, ended up going to a Boat and RV Show with friends. Saved thousands of dollars. Will finish the door Sunday morning. Should take about an hour (hopefully).

I wanna ride but it is going to rain and be cold.

Rode it up through Amelia Island today - and got to pass a Bugatti Veyron like this one:

For a couple of seconds this 1.7 million-dollar sports car was my bitch! ::26:: ::012::

I had forgotten the annual Concours d'Elagance is this weekend - exotics all over the place...

Finally reached the point where Yamaha says I can start using the engine however I see fit.

Glad to be rid of the official restrictions, but the engine is far from broken in. I took the blue Tenere for a ride this afternoon. It has 9,700 miles and the engine is far livelier than the 1K mile engine. Both were broken in the same way, so I'm assuming the new bike will get there.

Went for a short dirt ride up the hill behind my house for a photo op in the snow
Then, after breakfast, went for a 200 mile ride.

Got out for a quick ride today, it rained all day yesterday so it was nice to do some dirt roads and not be powder coated white when I got home.

You will be catching the mileage leaders soon. As for the Blue being livelier... they are ;)
