I tried this test today with my recently ECU U reflashed S10 and it does that very nicely. In addition, if I snap it in second gear, you had better be ready, because it is going skyward. Also, I had it flashed for 85-90 octane and I had a tank full of 93 when I put the ECU back in. Today I was able to put 4 gallons of 87 in and it sure seems more responsive, although I only rode it a few miles. More testing tomorrow, but I can see that the major improvement of the reflash is in throttle response and roll on power in the midrangeTremor38 said:The snow cleared for the paved area aound the complex at work, so I did a few laps with the Diapason ECU. Wasn't able to get past 2nd gear within the conifines of the area, but noted a few things.
1. More grunt from low in the RPM range.
2. Doing a roll-on from low speed in 2nd gear, the front comes off the ground once you get into the meat of the midrange power...no snaps of the wrist or sudden application of power. 8)
Can't wait unil the roadways around here clear up, so I can 'test' this further. ::001::
Nope, ended up going to a Boat and RV Show with friends. Saved thousands of dollars. Will finish the door Sunday morning. Should take about an hour (hopefully).Tremor38 said:Good on ya! Must mean the garage door is working. 8)

Haven't we been saying that all along?? ODirt_Dad said:Glad to be rid of the official restrictions, but the engine is far from broken in. I took the blue Tenere for a ride this afternoon. It has 9,700 miles and the engine is far livelier than the BLACK 1K mile engine. Both were broken in the same way, so I'm assuming the new bike will get there.
You will be catching the mileage leaders soon. As for the Blue being livelier... they areDirt_Dad said:Finally reached the point where Yamaha says I can start using the engine however I see fit.
