I like those racks. Looking good. What about the little rubber plugs? At least that is what they look like. Do they cover holes that run thru the rack?
Also, what is the measurement of the holes side to side and top to bottom?
Thanks

211john, can you post a pic with the Givi mounted on the altrider rack? I'm hoping it sits close to where I mounted mine on the factory rack, so the wife likes it for a backrest. The alternative is just mounting the adapter I have, which is fine, but I'd prefer to do it that way if the front of the case is close to the back of the seat.

The snow cleared for the paved area aound the complex at work, so I did a few laps with the Diapason ECU. Wasn't able to get past 2nd gear within the conifines of the area, but noted a few things.

1. More grunt from low in the RPM range.

2. Doing a roll-on from low speed in 2nd gear, the front comes off the ground once you get into the meat of the midrange power...no snaps of the wrist or sudden application of power. 8)

Can't wait unil the roadways around here clear up, so I can 'test' this further. ::001::

I did this today, didn't have to take off the Jesse mounts either, just unbolted the cover and slid it forward with a small amount of wrangling.

Cool! Why did the OP want to sell his Akra anyway?...I can't quite figure that out.

The rubber bumpers aren't in holes that go all the way through. They are just mounted into the tubing. 11 1/4" by 3 7/8".

I haven't bought the cases yet, I'll post pics when I get them. The racks are not symmetrical, the right one is closer in than the left. So a 36 liter on the left and a 45 on the right should work.

How far from symmetrical are they? Most of the posts I have read claim they are very close to symmetrical, if not symmetrical.

I'll be busy this weekend with:

ECU coming from Powerhouse Motorcycles
Seat coming from Corbin's
Luggage coming from Caribou
Jacket & Helmet coming from Revzilla

That should keep me busy! ::012::

I think we had the last nights with temperatures below 0°C so I spent some time removing the S100 corrosionprotection from my bike including the 5mm thick layer of mud, salt and other goo which collected on the S100. It was good to see that the salt didn't get to the metal.

With the bike all shiny and white I decided to put some Pledge Beeswax on it too. It's even more shiny now ::013::

Which also is an excellent tip. Pledge Beeswax is one of the best waxes I know for you motorcycle. And yes, I do mean the stuff you put on your furniture ::024::

The description says the right is 30mm closer to the bike than the left, which is the difference in width of the e45 and e36 case. Seems accurate to me.

This probably doesn't show it very well but there is a 36 on the left and a 45 on the right. 45 on top.

Plugugly, this isn't a great shot but hopefully it tells you what you want to know.

In keeping in the spirit of "what I did to my Tenere today", I rode down to Carson City to Adventure Motostuff (link above) and bought these three cases and a new lockset so I can key them all alike. Nice shop, lots of inventory. I talked with the owner and she confirmed that if their website says "on hand" then it's in their shop. They let me try the boxes on the bike before I bought them. Unfortunately they aren't open on weekends. I guess most of their business is via the web. Still, they have a nice showroom.

The two e45 cases came in the same box and were keyed alike from the factory. The 36 was different though so I had to buy a 3 lock set to get them all the same.

Here is a hawk I saw eating lunch when I stopped to take some pictures of the bike.

Saturday I finished changing oil and filter. Cleaned the windshield and polished the paint. Rode with a friend and became a 10K'r - 10,030.

Thanks for the picture 211John, it's just what I wanted. I think I'll order the rack without the Givi mounts, and just bolt mine on exactly where she likes it. I'd like to make something that is quick release and leave just the flat rack, but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort.

The more I look at the Give E36/45 combo the more I like it. I'm using a Trekker 33 as a top box and had planned to also use Trekkers for panniers but the E's just look "right" on the S10.

Anyone here care to comment how well the keep out the rain??

RIP little mouse. :(

Regards, Paul

3 weeks ago 1 of the rubber plugs where the sidecase sits on went missing. Received a new one for free from my dealer. Apparantly the left case fits a bit too well. When you take off the case you pull the plug with it ...

1 of the bulbs from my car went out so I bought 2 new BlueVision bullbs for my bike and put the bulbs from my bike in my car. Both happy ::008::

Rode for ab out 45 min, I would say no louder than stock just a lower tone, seemed to have cured some of the flat spot, but not really certain about that. The pipe makes a nice mellow tone. Much quieter than my Yosh on my FZ1. If your looking for loud look eslewhere is what I would say.
