Found a broke rear spoke (missing nipple, bent spoke) whilst cleaning the bike. See, there is some value to TLC. I'd gotten lax about checking them, having not found a loose one in 27,000 miles. That will teach me. Hopefully I get source a couple of spares from a forum member, otherwise I"ll have to bite the bullet and buy set.

Is there a good tool for tighten these? I have a spoke wrench and Allen wrenches, but neither fit easily into the wheel confines.
Same here! 30 some-odd. 'T' handled, ball headed Allen wrench. Made a special order with my tool guy. LOL, several weeks later I found the nipple in the driveway. There is a listing in the 'for sale' folder, buy as many or as few as you want. Two slightly different lengths in the rear, same for the front. I ordered one of each to ride in my kit.

An allen socket and 6" extension with a ratchet work well.

Installed a Shad SH45 top case. Did not realize shad had an adapter for the Tenere until after. I just marked the rear rack, removed it and drilled it where the shad base would line up, put the rack back on and bolted the base plate on. I used some larger diameter stainless flat washers than what came with it. Seems fine to me. Saved about $50.00 by not buying the shad adapter.

A ratchet can tend to promote an over torque if not careful. But, with a socket/extension you can use a torque wrench if you so choose.

Mine is still sitting on the showroom floor , As there is 1/2 meter of snow in the yard ,its probably a good place for it. MC season starts in April in this part of BC . But as the pavement starts to shows the fever starts.. Lots of old mine and logging roads here and a few trips planned already . have enjoyed riding for (omg) 50 years now. I have some Rumbux upper bars coming and have a pile of goodies to put on soon as I get it home . Two more weeks and I will bring it home, cant wait .. Lar..

Found out that i have to turn in my Super Tenere for a recall. Although its old news it is for the wiring harness for the head lamp. But i will wait till my 4000 mile mark so i can service, replace, and add on to my Super Yammi. So i will be fresh and up to date and hopefully driving out of the dealership with K60's aswell. ::018::

Just looked at it :( even though it's the first sunny weekend of the year I will send today sorting out the shed. It will bring no end of brownie points plus find all the tools and stuff that I have lost in it. Not having a garage it tends to have everything lobbed in there with no care for order particularly when it's dark and raining like it has been for the last 5 months

Thanks SB! It was made for the usual fat bars. I cut off the Velcro and my wife sewed it back on to fit the Flexx bar foam. That's her contribution to farkeling.

I removed my Jesse Top Box, and adapter plate, installed an Altider Luggage rack. Replaced my Zumo 550 and replaced with the 665 I had on a bike I sold. I installed the PinLock Visor on my XD4, and took her for a spin.

I plan on remounting my top box when I get time. I will need drill new mounting holes and fill in the old ones.

Just installed side wind deflectors. They work great with the stock wind screen. Glad to have installed them.

Yesterday was such a nice day, I put 300 miles on the bike with a run up to the Sequoia national Forrest. Did some dirt roads, but from the rain storm last week, they were more four wheel drive roads with the deep gullies in them, and that loose sandy dirt. Stock tires were no match for the conditions. Of course my skills weren't any better. Can't wait to wear these tires out.

Have been physically unwell and feeling rough over most of the winter months and the surgery that'll fix me looks as though it'll be delayed………….. again. :( Woke up this morning to the promise of the thermometer hitting 10 degrees C. Then the sun came out and dried the roads. So, for the first time this year, I got Soupy out of the shed and rode her. It felt really good to get back in the saddle again and despite everything, life somehow managed to become so much brighter and hopeful. ::021::
