A simple YIKES! Still not riding season where I'm at, but there have been days where I'm tempted to sneak a short ride in. Would have to chose the roads carefully. Nothing as cold as temps you have, but there is still enough snow and patches of ice to make the riding pretty dicey. By the end of this month, I'll be riding to work again, but with heated gear.

Not today, yesterday I cleared the bike hoist of the dismantled BMW parts I am parting out and watched Willy change his oil on his ZX-14 and Greg change his oil and adjust his chain on his FZ-09 all mixed in with a fun ride down to Temecula for Willy's oil and a rip home through De Luz...where Greg and I swapped bikes. When he gushes about the motor on the FZ-09 he is not exaggerating.

The little triple 850cc is a terror. That motor pulls from idle and revs on to what feels like forever. Long pulls between shifts and no dead spots. Smooth as butter too. The bike feels like you are riding YZ-85 it is so compact and light and it just flicks anywhere. A YZ 85 but without the narrow violent powerband tingly buzz.

Like others, I actually wish the would take that platform and build an adventure based bike. I would like the pegs forward and down a bit and/or the seat taller and thicker. The bars up a bit and a bit wider. Longer travel front and rear. A small modest windscreen. A substantially larger fuel tank. And finally a 19" front wheel and both wheels laced tubless like the Super 10.

The basic Chassis, motor, trans, and swingarm are excellent.

Sick and delicious Tabasco.

BTW, what is the gold under the front edge of the fuel tank? A gold anodized aluminum airbox?
A while back he insulated his air box with a gold heat reflective foil. Looked pretty slick.

Holy S%$*!
Jaxon, you got her so gnarly dirt bike bad. No way it will get mistaken for ANYTHING else dressed like that. :)

And you KNOW I love her shoes.

Gotta post again.

I can't quit looking at that pic. How about a few more angles?

Yea, I did an experiment last summer by covering the entire air box with gold reflective heat/race tape. Now both outside temp and air box temp are very close all the time. I added this the same time I did an air box mod. Both mods worked well.

Don,
That's Jaxon's response to a damaged radiator after a seemingly minor fall on the left side. In mud, if I recall.

After inspecting, the crash bars did their job, but can't stop mud (or sand?) from packing into the air grill on our side covers and pushing things around.
So, just like I described him, he thoughtfully went after a solution to improve his Tenere. Very scientifically, if you read the specific thread.
And yes, he can and will provide the improvement for anyone that so desires. That one is tempting for me, due to my propensity to accommodate gravity.

I was thinking just some more angles, detail of your mods maybe and anything you want to showcase. Just to help me get through the rest of winter while looking aoutside at two feet of snow in -25c / -13f. :'(
