I fitted some Osram Rallye 65W special service H7 headlight bulbs. Nice and fairly cheap improvement.
Those sound interesting. Do you have a vendor you can recommend?

I changed my Air Filter today(26,000 kms) and took her for a quick blast up and down the street. TC was really kicking in on the frosty pavement.

Wow, don't remember mine being that hard to locate. But! How fast do you think the harness will torch running the 80w H7? ::26::
That's what I was worried about so I sought out the 65w ones. I'm aware of some harness problems in the earlier model years, not sure what they did to solve it with the '15s but I didn't want to push it. The 80w seem to be easy to find though. Some the ebay and Amazon descriptions lead me to believe that Osram has upgraded the 65w ones to 80w which makes me wonder about future availability of the 65w unis. The amperage difference between the 65 and 55w OEM bulbs is down to ~ 1.5A assuming the system is running at least 14V. Mine shows 14.1V, with the heated jacket on full blast up to 14.6, so actual amperage should be a bit less still. I can't imagine that would cause a problem.

I've forgotten if it was the Tenere, FJR, or Strom, but one of the three had an issue with high wattage bulbs damaging the reflector material in the headlight shell.

I flashed my Gen2 S10, and i am very pleased with the results much more power right off idle. what a pain in the arse it is to get to the ECU though.

Thanks, that was all I found too but I'd never heard of them before. Sounds like they're legit though.

I agree, I'm more comfortable going to 65W than 80W.
I saw this thread a week or so ago and tried to get the 65w but impossible to find for sale searching Google in UK

I bought a pair which weren't described as 85W and before I fit them just wondered based on comments above whether will be too much for the electric system?

Basic going-over after bringing it home 2 days ago...adjusting all the controls, checking the fasteners, fluid levels, tire pressure, etc. As soon as the heavy fog lifts, hopefully burning up at least a 1/2 tank of fuel.

This morning I did the OEM luggage rack conversion. I removed the seat and the luggage rack substructure, and then reattached the luggage rack with the remaining short bolts. I freaked out a little when the luggage rack wouldn't fit between the grab rails but I took some advice from the forum and did some dremel sanding until everything fit perfect. Loading my camping gear will be even better now!!

I could feel/here the difference immediately as soon as I started the bike, and gave it a couple of revs in neutral.

Touring mode is similar to how it was, gentle with progressive throttle, but you now get full power when you twist past 50% as opposed to a maximum of 50% in 1st, 70% in 2nd and 100% in 4,5,6th.

I'd be curious to see my S10 on a dyno now as I have the Arrow full system and ECU flash. A S10 with the same mods was dynode at 103hp https://rideapart.com/articles/adding-power-project-tenere so mine should be the same.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm mostly interested in smoothing the on/off throttle response. How was the improvement there? A place close to me called Jet tuning does the flash tune for $200 and I'm considering it. Also any effect on gas mileage?

The bike is more responsive, the on-off-on transition is smoother due to the injector deceleration cut being disabled.

Fuel consumption will be more due to reduced nine braking and the rich ended mixture but I can't imagine it will be more than 10-20 km/tank.

Changed the air filter. Mileage is at 24,560.
I hinged back the gas tank and my son held it kinda upright, while I switched the filters.

Here are the pics.

I finally got my clutch holding tool in the mail yesterday from PDIRacing.com

I had time after work this evening to install the 14 clutch basket and nut I bought off of like2ride and take her out for a quick spin around the block.

All the low speed chudder is gone..which wasn't that bad to begin with but it's all gone! Amazing! ::001::

Well worth what money I spent on it for the swap.
