There 38 & 45 Litre in size.

Had them on a couple of months now and no issues what so ever. Waterproof even against the jet wash so really pleased. ::008::

I liked your bike! I think just that the upper case should have the cover identical to the sides. I think it would look more symmetrical.

I know what you mean but there are two very good reasons for the difference. 1) The Metal Mule Top box RACK looks crap! (IMO -in my oppionion) compared to the Touratech. 2) Plus you have to remove the OEM Hand grips which my son uses all the time and replace with MM steel tube grips wich also look crap(IMO)
The Touratech box is on all the time as I leave my lid in it when out n about. The rack also have space under it for a nifty bag (on it's way as I type). I had the MM Top boxbut it was a Stubby 22lt which is too small. I was going to but a MM and adjust the base fitting but at ni on £500 I thought the Touratech would do just nice.

Everyone to their own, like I say "There are many like it but Mr.T is MINE" ::009:: ::021:: ::008::

Hi mate,

They do look good, and as there is a special offer at the moment on their web site they are coming in about the same price as the Zega Pro in the UK. Can you let me know the total width of the panniers when fitted please? All part of my research, and would also be useful for the database that is being created on here...

Cheers,

Matt
I'll mesure them the next time they are on the bike............. Sunday when I get back ::008::

What's that round-shaped silver, blue and white thing on your front fork between the axle and brake caliper?

That is the "tax disc" we have on all our vehicles in the UK. It shows you have paid you road tax.

Not the nicest accessory to have, but a big fine for not displaying.

In Singapore, we used to display it too.. But since all road tax can be checked via online and recorded/retrieved wirelessly, we dun need to display it anymore..

kinda weird for a 3rd generation government to use a 1st generation paper for recording purposes? ::009::

Close to being finished installing my Pelican cases. Used a Pelican 1560 for the top case and 2 1610's for the side cases. Originaly thought I would have to use a smaller case on left side, but with a Leo carbon slipon and modifing the left Jesse rack that I used I was able to use same size on both sides with only 3/8 inch wider on left. The top case is 46 liters and each side is 62 liters. 38.5 inches wide. Hand guards are a little over 39 so stayed within that width. Side cases have tail/brake and signal lights. Also quick releases for sides. Removed all brackets and rear seat shelf to mount top case as low as I could. It is attached to subframe with four screws directly into subframe. Will also be used to mount backrest. Have a carbon sheet velcroed to subframe rails to closeout wiring. Very pleased with finished product and feel that the cases will be very durable. Bought new Jesse mounts and used cases on Ebay. Total cost for everything to this point is less than $700 and more than a few hours labor on my part.

Nice looking fab work, well from this distance ::025::
Those pelican cases you have on the side look humungous something that either a RTW rider could do with I'd imagine, or perhaps something that a motorcycle quick response paramedic, firefighter would benefit from... more function over form IMO.

Plan was function over form. Have a 6 month trip planned on the bike so the extra space will be used.

Did you have to adjust the headers in any way to get the exhaust mounted so close and are you having any issues with the heat affectng the rear indicator

No and No
It is Leo carbon slipon. In the third picture above you can see how the pipe bracket is mounted. It comes with a spacer to locate it out further, but I found it still clears everything the way I mounted it and sits in much tighter. Used the down turn tip and no issues with heat on signal. Went with carbon can because it transfers way less heat than stainless or ti. You can hold the can running down the road and it is just warm. Cat is also gutted which helps with heat.

Good choice Dave! The Charcoal look good on the black.

A thing about jesse's - I'm moved mine in as tight as they'll comfortably go, which means removing the grab rails. People have said "how do you get it up on the stand with no grab rails?". I wondered that myself for a while. Turns out it's easy. If the bags are off, obviously use the racks. If the bags are on - not so obvious. But if you grab the passenger peg, brace your elbow into the front of the bag, then lift on the peg and at the same time push on the bag... it goes up like a dream.

Just a tip for new Jesse owners ;D

Did you notice any difference in handling or just for clearing bushes and rocks?

I put a set on my strom and they affected the handling quite a bit, and although I feel a difference with them on the Tenere it's much less pronounced. I figure it's due to the stability of the bike. Another nice surprise.

Maybe it's because I'm a large guy, but I always thought I was doing something wrong when getting it up onto the center stand, so I tried something different, and instead of focusing on pulling the bike up and back, I focused on pushing the center stand down. It works well, there's a little cam effect if you push straight down.

First ride with my Jesse's today, all is well, I'm still nervous cause I think I'm going to hit something, but I never get that close anyway, so it's unfounded.
