I don't know of anyone on the forum who has them. Maybe somebody will jump in and surprise us. They sure look rugged, but they definitely don't look to be for people on a on a budget;-)

Tubebender, thanks for the links. Trimlok has the edge seal for the lids and I sourced hinges through Southco.

Still working on the case locks.
The corners are a small 3 sided piece of aluminum that overlays onto each sheet and is riveted on.
Now along with the pannier racks, wiring, heated grips, skid plate, engine guards, and LED lights I might be done by June. ::013::

Had a close look at the Metal Mule units at the local dealer. Very pricey, well built, rugged units. They looked like they would outlast a couple of Tenere's.

I think as far the the aluminum side cases go, I'd guess Micatech, Jessie and Metal Mule are tough, tougher, and toughest in that order. Just a guess. I wondering how easy to remove the racks are for the Metal mules .

Howbout the Touratech Zegas? Pricey, but they look bombproof....

Who's got em?
+1 I think we have a member who has a Zega top box, and I think there might be someone with a complete set of Zega, but I think most people don't get past the 'pricey' part. I'm really not sure what you get for the premium price other than the looks, as quite a few other brands are just as tough, but are lowe priced.

Metal Mule "world headquarters" is about 25 miles from me. I have a set of their Mark2 , 40 litre (maybe 45) large panniers which I had for my BM. They are incredibly strongly built and over engineered. THey did a kit for the 1200GS, which when used with their own branded, scorpion exhaust allowed a balanced pannier system, due to the exhaust being tucked close to the subframe. (similar to the WASP system??)

They are developing this system for the S10 and I am waiting to buy a set of frames and possibly the exhaust ( I am trying to get a link pipe made to avoid buying a complete system, and use my own muffler). If and when this happens I will post details. Last communincation before Xmas said they were waiting for Scorpion to complete the exhaust design?

That definitely sounds like somthing to keep tabs on. I'm really happy with how the aftermarket companies are responding to this bike.

They are a bit pricey. Look them up at Twisted Throttle.
They're competitively priced for what you get. I'd say pricey is Touratech and Metal Mule.

I really liked the Trax system however for $1200 I would rather get something from Holan or Happy Trails. They are known to be tough and completely waterproof. Plus they are between $700-$900 which is about $300 less than the TraX system.

My ST 2011 with RONCAR made in Brasil.
I like your bike a lot. The dual exhausts are very unique.

Yeah, that made me start thinking, because you can get a side case 'system' of TT Zega Pros complete with ss stays/frame for about 300.00 more....so if you're already close to that price range....

Pete, interesting setup you got there. At first I was scratching my head after viewing the first couple of photos, then the last one made me realise you got something like one uses on a pack horse...

Any issues with that pack up against the muffler though or weather with water seepage in really heavy prolonged rain or a water crossing?

I've been in all kinds of weather with the GL including a 3.5 hour rain storm. I was soaked but the GL was dry as a bone. The ST has a muffler
shield, no heat problems. I did wear a little of the paint off it as the strap was rubbing it a bit.
