I'm likeing the Jesse panniers. Withe the lower edge cut away I'd say you were 100% safe in the bends. I've had the lft peg on the deck with my other half on the back and the MM panniers on without incident. Give or take the ear bending for the wife that is for "Going over a very long way back there" ::025:: ::025:: ::025::

Very nice. This is making me wonder how the charcoal would look on a blue S10. I'm thinking they would look good...anyone handier than me with Photoshop? O0

Too Ugly to Display. Being a long term KLR owner I usually took the frugal route. Suffice it to say I have already spent a bundle on the ST with headers, exhaust, PCV, Auto tune, windscreen, crash guards and etc. So when it came to panniers I ordered a rack from Happy Trails and transferred my somewhat used panniers from the KLR to the ST. Too embarrassed to post pics. You just have to see them to understand. However some would say the have character. Others would agree, there ugly.

PS: I did have the lids re coated with rhino liner type coating. Kind of matchs the texture of the seat?

After reading reviews, or the lack thereof I decided to give them a try and get first set of Holan bags for the S10 here in the US.

http://holanusa.com/holan-nomada-pro-special-pannier-kit-yamaha-super-tenere.html

Overall I have to say that I am really impressed. I was looking for a rack made out of stainless steel beacuse after only 70,000 miles on my KLR most all my steel parts have converted from powder coating to a coating of rust. I thought the only option would be the Touratech, but after finding the Holan panniers with an exhaust cut out and a full stainless steel rack for $300 cheaper I was sold.

There were a lot of older review of people waiting months before being able to get bags from HolanUSA, many of which sounded very discouraging. But all reviews of the actual product were super.

I called up HolanUSA also known as Motorcycle Insight and was able to talk to Bill for about a half hour about the system and if there had been any changes in Holan's ability too keep up with supply. He assured me that after Holan had been bought out they have had much better luck, and that they had 2 - 39l systems in stock. I ordered and they had them on the UPS truck the same day. I received them 5 business days later.

So without further ado:

Yes I know the bike is dirty, the cases will be soon as well. ::021::

Let me know if there are any questions.

I like 'em! They were on my list of bags to consider, but I scratched them after reading about supply and QC problems. Hopefully that's a thing of the past!

It's funny you say that because that's exactly what I did :D I don't own photoshop and am lousy with most deep photo editing like that, but I did some rough color changes a more simple way. If you have any pictures with a blue Tenere and black jesses, you can just lighten the black and it looks close enough to give you and idea.

Thank you for posting this! I was getting frustrated because I couldn't find what I was looking for (raw aluminum, stainless rack, and exhaust cut out). After months of debating, I was about to pull the trigger on some Jesse bags, but they seemed too big, and not exactly what I was looking for. I saw your pictures and knew they were exactly what I have been looking for, so I ordered a set today.

My only reservation about he stainless rack - if you break it you might have a hard time finding someone to weld it. Not a big concern in the US, but for third-world travel might be a consideration?

Good point. However, it's going to be a couple years before I go third world exploring with it. I'll have a lot of time to test it out, or change it.

i couldnt decide between the holans or the happy trails. I love the look of the holan and they havehad amazing reviews. I was scared away because of the time frames and the company issues. I might have to give them a calll!

Really happy with my 9" Cliff Cut happy Trails now that I have them on and done some miles with them. Tight, tidy and very well built and a great price to boot. I can easily recommend them for fit and quality. ::008::

Thanks for all the complements. I am really enjoying the Holan system. In response the the question about the overall width I just went into the garage and measured the width at just over 35 inches.

I see that Holan USA's website now says that these boxes are out of stock. It will be interesting to see how they do fulfilling orders, I hope they can stay on top of it because it really is a great product. Its sad when customer service reviews are holding them back, that should be the easy part. But as I said before my experience with them has been nothing but great.

For everyones information only the Metal Mules with 38 & 45 Lt panniers on are 110cm corner to corner, compared to the handle bars that are 90cm ::008::

Wow, the Metal Mules 'aint not joke.' Greater than 43 inches in width. The cases I'm looking at are about 38", and I thought them wide compared to the OEM's....Of course, anything is wide compared to the OEM's.
