Haha that's awesome. I was looking at pictures and told myself there's no way it can only be 12L roughly each side. I'm calling my yami dealer tomorrow to try and pass that word so Yamaha doesn't look like a bunch of morons.
FWIW I bought my OEM panniers from http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/. Best luck navigating the website they sell a lot of Yamaha gear ...HamptonYami said:I was almost ready to pull the trigger on some Yamaha panniers until I saw the price for so little space (less than 30L combined!). What was the price for those that have the jesses system, and for those that have the TraX boxes, do you think you could post a picture from the front of your bike so I can see how much they stick out? Thanks.
Thanks Jason, they are 37" at the very rear, and due to the bike angles, the front of the bags are 39.5, as are the widest portion of the hand guards.ThatsLife said:Hey Clem, nice job on the Micatechs! Looks great! What's the overall width at the rear? Hope that's not to personal!
After comparing lots of pricing for Yamaha OEM stuff, these guys are the cheapest... Stadium Yamaha. Heres there link for the S10 OEM gear... http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/Catalog/Products/26?f1=1&f2=4&f3=49&f4=148213&f5=161794&catID=203&subCatID=0&brandID=0&page=1&showAll=false US$850 total for the side cases/panniers with mounting kit...fender5803 said:FWIW I bought my OEM panniers from http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/. I know the list was aprox. $1100 including the mounting kit. But I swear I got my set up (no top box) for less than $900. I can not find my reciept and the email has no price on it .... It was a discount applied by them that surprised me-!! I have been using them for 1500 miles but not on ruff stuff and they are very happy.
They open and close very well.

Wasp had a set for a while - check the early part of his thread on ADVrider for pics.szctom said:How those AERO will fit the look of black ST1200 as usually you can see them on Multistrada or KTM SMT??
Bernie is a nice chap. He had an S10 on his stand at the Excel bike show. The only shame was that it was a balanced system rather then having a larger box on the right.Tontos said:When wandering the net I found this place in the UK , as it was just round the corner from my mate that has a S10 sent him round to have a look .
He said they were well made and solid if a little agricultural. They sell 2 panniers with fitting kit for the S10 for just over the £500 mark.
I am hoping to get up there in a couple of weeks

This make me wonder about a frame that would attach to the OEM stays. Maybe a U-shaped channel at the top with a square peg at the fwd, lower corner that plugs into the recepticle. I have almost zero fabication skills, but I'm sure there's -'ahem'- somebody -'cough'- that could pull it off. 8) A bonus would be a rear cross-brace.szctom said:I was planning to go for a Trax Evo combo 37/45 + Trax Evo topcase but then I realized that I will use those panniers only for longer trips two up and that will be like one or max two times in a year.
Otherwise they will stay in the garage as they are too big for commuting, solo riding. For longer on/off road trips I will probably use soft luggage Giant Loop Great Basin.
That's why I thought about SW-Motech AERO cases as they will be much more in use I would say.
And when we will go for two up trips I can always add an additional small roll/tail bag on the top of the top case to cover that capacity difference: Trax Evo combo 37+45=82, AERO 31x2=62.
Is there anyone using SW-Motech AERO sidecase set?

That cost $20.00 extra for proper splaying.fredz43 said:The right one is splayed.
I splay all my cats....didn't know a motorcycle needed that. O0whisperquiet said:That cost $20.00 extra for proper splaying.
