At Long Last - my take on the AVC FLASH :
After marrying up to my local post office - back n forth - and forth again...I finally got my ECU back from AVC. Nothing Anthony did wrong, just had to get
in synch with the local USPS.
With the help of my new found friend JimL53 who lives a scant 25 minutes from my front door, the ECU was fitted and buttoned up and a test fire proved
a smooth and "healthy" exhaust note through my Staintune can.
Jim & I then went for a ride on little known highway 62 which is a very twisty part near the Ohio River and takes us right back to highway 421 - which
enabled us to get back to his house in time for his husband duties that same afternoon.
Thank you again Jim - you're a good wrench and a huge help to me.
We took the twisty way back to his place not only for the fun but also I wanted to feel the difference in the engine braking (*or lack thereof*) with the
new mod's to my ECU. (*BTW - I went with "T" enhanced & "S" super-sport SS....more about that in a sec*)
Once we got to Jim's house we let our iron cool a bit and talked about the new changes. Jim mentioned it sounded "mean" when I would get on the loud
grip exiting a corner. It DID sound different - maybe even raspy like a Duc or a heavy KTM on full howl. I like it very VERY much.
We chewed the fat for a bit and then I left him there to ponder his choices of when he'll jump and do the FLASH. He didn't want to ride my scoot that day
to feel the difference between his new 2013 Supa10 and my 18,500 miles 2012. That day will happen this week.
My Opinions / Results :
(*note : unless noted I run in TC-2 almost 100%*)
Engine braking in "T" enhanced is still noticeable - probably would be my choice if I was doing a long trip with miles of twisty hardtop.
The exit rush of power is still there but the engine braking is more noticeable in "T". Exhaust note is virtually the same. It spools up fast like my just sold
2006 Speed Triple or like my 2004 KTM Adventure. It's like there is no flywheel there. Hit the loud grip and BAMM it's on full boil RIGHT NOW.
*exactly what I was looking for.*
I didn't know it would pull my arms outta my sockets though. EGADS, romp through the first 4 gears up and near to red line and I begin to feel the
interesting sensation of 2 torn rotator cuffs (*

You've heard it here before and I am telling you all yet again - DO THIS MOD.! It has absolutely transformed this SinisterBlack Beast into a stealth romper
stomper that can go like stink with the best of 'em, now. Bring on that new Adventure GS.!!
This is just "T" mode too.
"S" SS is the nuts...it is such a rush to have this mill FINALLY opened up to what it potentially can do. If you love your machine as much as I love my iron
you will be on a brand new love affair with this "S" SS mod. It is flat the best bang for your buck. I wouldn't even jack around with the CJM mod. Just have
Anthony whip his magic on your ECU with this SS mod and watch your eyes brighten with happiness. If sheer speed and machine sounds are what trigger
your senses - then this "SS" mod is for you. If you whack the throttle handle it is on full boil RIGHT NOW...no breath to catch up, no hesitation, no whiff,
no hint of waiting...just full friggin' full tilt boiling over RIGHT NOW.!
The drive-ability of my bike now is so much more enhanced with the FLASH. Passing a car is just a thought of twisting the grip and smiling. No urgency or
timing or "thinking" - just twist and go. Just such a pleasure to ride the thing now. I loved it before - I'm married now. I couldn't be happier.
Do the mod - do it..!!
