Ordering a left switch cluster to have a Euro hazard & flash to pass

Speaking as a UK rider with many years experience I can honestly say I have never used a pass switch on a bike. I do find hazards useful though for stopping at the side of the road and for filtering through heavy traffic on the motorway which is a thing I picked up in Mainland Europe :)

bump - Finally got the switch cluster yesterday and no wire diagram. Started mapping the switch positions to the wires.

As for usefullness, I'm not sure that I have ever used it to pass somebody, but learned to love the silly thing. We live in a wooded outer suburb to the north of DC. Rather than continually thumbing the big rocker, the flash switch is handy when you continually are switching hi-low. For example, if you want the high beam and know that the highs will only be on for a little bit before a car comes the other way. Coming to intersections with cross traffic, it's a great attention getter. etc.

I'm working on a way that it could be for whoever wants one. Switch clusters are kind of generic, which is why ours looks like the one for the Versys, but the vehicle makers then add some engineering to use their connectors and increase the cost. By a lot.

So I have a cluster and am working on what we need to do to add the connector(s) for the XTZ12, without cutting bike wires. I'm trying to keep the cost under $30.

Appreciate your time, effort, and expense.

I use my KLR Flash to Pass switch to pass (not often) and as you do to temporarily light dark roads. Night blind rider and anything helps.

Just so there's no more mystery, there are no additional external wires for the flash to pass and the 4-ways. That all happens inside of the switch assemblyThe flash to pass uses the high beam wire and the 4-way uses the turn signal wires. I'm sure wrecker checker already knows this, but I figured I'd say something for those who where wondering out loud. ::001::

I'm on this like Oprah on a canned ham if I can get it for ~$30.

You guys would make pretty good elk hunters! When using a longbow, it was all about the HUNT and getting to the actual kill and cleaning of the game was sort of a let down, because the reality was, the HUNT was over.

Great stuff. I'd love to have the hazards on the S10 and wouldn't mind the flash to pass either. Sure wish the US politicians read their car owner's manuals and understood what the Flash to Pass was for. Instead it's now a ticket in some states, (WA), for 'road rage' if you flash your lights at the left lane squatter pacing that dump truck at 50 mph and talking on her cell phone. BTDT, got the lecture and a speed ticket from the LEO.

Did I miss the final outcome of this mod or is it a dead subject?

Project got back burnered to move homes and with work travel going back into high gear. The parts are in the garage, I'm just hardly there. It'll get done this Winter or Spring but I now have some hotter priorities for the time.

If somebody else has an idea, go for it!
