Sun Coast responded on the oil pump query, nothing on hand.

On the address, Holanda 1522 is the street, Providencia is the "suburb" Santiago is the city and Depto 201 is the secondary direction within the 1522 address. 711 0123 is the post code.

For an online quote, DHL's system will ask for country, city, suburb when it's input to the system.

So:

Bob Doe
Holanda 1522, Depto 201
Santiago
Providencia 711 0123
Chile

Or:

Bob Doe
Holanda 1522
Depto 201
Santiago
Providencia 711 0123
Chile

One of those should work. DHL's online site wanted Country, City, Suburb, then took me to package type, (one of theirs or my own), weight and size. Then pick up, value protection and residential delivery? With a WAG of 8 lbs and a box of 8"x8"x8" , no pick up, no insurance and residential delivery, shipping from Austin, TX 77201 it quoted me:

EXPRESS 12:00
****Delivery Wednesday, February 22, 2017 by 12.00 P.M
$323.45
Online discount price - $260.59

EXPRESS WORLDWIDE
****Delivery Wednesday, February 22, 2017 by End of Day
$318.29
Online discount price - $255.43

It would not quote me standard service prices unless I was a business or had a DHL account. I have a UPS account and that same info was significantly more, with no standard service offered.

Hope that helps

Felix, please feel free to delete all your personal info.

Sorry for being a confused shipper. Lol
The package is supposed to arrive Wednesday.

I'll email you tracking info.

By the way, I had a blast with the shipper. We shared a million stories and discovered mutual friends we have.
It was worth it!

For those that don't know who the patient is, here she is in all her glory. She's a beauty!
I suspect that is Felix perched atop.

The pump arrived at Santiago. I hope I will receive it tomorrow. Everything is ready to install it and then a 30 miles ride for an oil wash, again both bottom covers out, inspection, new oil and oil filter and hope that this will be end there.

The best of this adventured and interesting story is that I ended with new fiends who helped me. A ::003:: for EricV, Tabasco and all other who replied trying to help..... and my gratitude and special toast to Snakebitten for his generosity yanking his bike for helping an unknown forum member ::012:: ::012::

In the meantime I inspected the magnet area as per Tabasco suggestion, which was clean, changed the front fender and the brake cross line that were also damaged with the mud adventure as previously informed.

Yes, its me in the above picture. That was my white Xt1200 changed to a black (no red or white were available) XT1200 ES one year ago.

This story continues....

Uffff, custom clearance takes 3 days... same time that took the package from the US to Chile. Incredible the bureaucracy we have at customs.

A couple of picture of a recent ride and another of a previous Honda Goldwing I will never forget due to all Adventures with my loved wife and the quality of the bike.

Awesome pics Martin.
Just be sure that Chile isn't the only place with irritating bureaucracy. :)
You know, everybody needs a job and many folks need to be important.
Now that I'm old and worn out, I've decided they can be important, but they can't steal my joy. Lol

You'll be riding soon enough!

Good way of thinking Snakebitten.

Today I finished all maintenance and the bike is ready to receive the oil pump.

Fender and front crossing brake line are already replaced.

The following is a picture of te victim.

Following Snakebitten advice .... important Chilean custom people will not steel my joy :). They requested a written declaration regarding what is the purpose of the object and what is inside of the object. They do not work weekends, so clearance will happen next wednesday and delivery on thursday. :-X
A 3 days trip to Argentina to test everything starts on february 25. Enough time to install the pump and test everything is OK.

My bike friends postponed the real 2 weeks adventure to our Carretera Austral until march 17th to be sure my bike will be working fine.
I attached a couple of pictures taken from internet of that dreamed trip.

All this will be possible thanks Snakebitten generosity, since a new oil pump should have arrived from Japan by the end of march in the best case.

The Oil Pump arrived!!!
Thank you Snakebitten.
How is the progress of the purchase and installation of an oil pump in your bike?

I will install it immediately.
Will report the result of the oil wash ASAP.

Wow, it seems like I shipped it a long time ago. :(

I ordered the parts from my local friendly Yamaha dealer. I haven't a clue when they are due to arrive.
They'll call me. I told them I won't get anxious unless they don't arrive in March.
Sometime around the end of April I'm likely to throw a couple of bikes in the truck and head off for a month or so of ADVing with the lunatics on this forum.

Worse case scenario, I heard there is a used Tenere in West Virginia and I'll just work out a test-drive.
(They'll have to catch me to get it back before I'm done with it)

My good friend Snakebitten,

It was not the idea that you send me your oil pump so that I can make my trip and that you do not have a motorcycle to make your adventure. If I had known that you were risking your adventure, I would not have accepted your generous offer.

According to Yamaha Chile, there are weekly shipments from Yamaha Japan to Yamaha USA. Shipping takes 2 weeks and paperwork can add a third week. Situation dreamed for Chile where the import would have taken almost 2 months if everything goes well.

You should have the oil pump before the end of March. If there are delays that do not ensure that you have the pump, I do my ride and I send you back your pump installed on my bike. :-[

This very rare heart transplant between Yamahas Supertenere is becoming relevant and involves the proper nervousness (at least for me) of such operations.

I have faith that both of us will be able to realize our awaited adventures that give flavor to our lives. ::008::

Martin, do NOT be concerned about me getting to ride anytime, anywhere, I ever desire!

I'm shamefully blessed with plenty of options.
Besides, it is very unlikely, as you pointed out, that fetching an oil pump is going to be a problem.

Poor snakebitten
