for $1495 the alt rider tail rack and a large dry bag are looking pretty damn cost-effective. :) i know i need panniers, but at that price, i'm going to look around at other offerings before forking over that kind of money. i really need to see this setup in person before getting a warm-fuzzy.

$1495 is for the Safaris, right? $200 more than the Odyssey. I'm not sure what the advantages are, apart from rounded corners and choice of sizes? I was considering the Safaris but for me the Odysseys are about the right size so I'll save the $200 (or more accurately, spend it on something else!).

I know I am going to be buying the Odyssey bags from him. I had Trax and they leaked badly. Since he wont do a group buy has anyone askeed if he would wave the shipping on them? I don't know if he charged for shipping or not. It is not listed on his site.

Yeah shipping is I think in the range of $70-75 - I doubt they will waive it.

Shipping and Handling was $65.00, it seemed quite reasonable when the size of the boxes and the quality of the packing job was considered.

Just ordered my Jesses yesterday. $75 for shipping to me. They are coming by Fedex on Friday ::012:: Can't wait to get them on the bike. I just hope they are water proof. Had other sidecases that were rivited and sealed that leaked like a sive.

Yes they are definitely waterproof - 500 wet miles with mine this weekend - not a drop inside.

so pam thought about it for a spell and shot me down. debbie... she's broke so i didn't even ask her. i told myself that if they have the 9" safari in stock when i call, i'm going to order them. they won't have the mounting hardware until next monday, but the bags were in stock which met my requirement. anyway, $75 shipping to tennessee + $1495 and i should get them next fri/sat. just in time for the FF in NC.

will you be at the FF on the tenere? i'm gonna try and take off wed-fri and mosey my way east. hope to see you there.

Brian, Jason, what colors did you guys go with? I'd like to see some pics of the black and charcoal if either of you ordered those.

I kind of think the black would look best on my blue bike, but I gotta say the charcoal looks pretty sharp!

Those were my thoughts as well. Wound up ordering the black 9" Safari. LOL, I may be the one that got the last racks for the week.

Jason,
yes I'll be at the FF.
I just got home from a week on the road to Wyoming, Montana and S Dakota.
The bike was absolutely a pleasure and troublefree. All I did all week was put gas in it and ride, 3900 miles.
The bike has 6500 miles on it , the Battlewing back tire probably has another 1000 or so miles left in it but the 1500 mile interstate ride home squared it off pretty bad. Think I'll put a fresh tire on it for N Carolina. My plan is to ride the Tenere down on Saturday the 17th and hangout with the boys at Iron Horse for a couple of days, come home Wednesday and get Pam and take her back down on the Nomad for Thursday thru Sunday.
I want to see the Jesse bags in person to see what 1500 bucks would get me.
I think I like 'em but need to see 'em first.

Jason.....I'll be at the FF and FS & RRR before it. Since the skid plate and crash bars I ordered are backordered, and I want to ride offroad, I think I will tow the G650 X behind the Wing to have road and offroad options. If for some reason the protection items arrive in time, you may see me on the Tenere.
