I am waiting to hear back from Rick to see if he can commit to a tiered discount model so that we would know the pricing up front. This might help some that are on the fence!
Those look great ! ! ::015::stevepsd said:Here are the pics off the Jesse site of the 9" Safari bags!
Nice & narrow. Check out the front view pic...you can hardly see the bags.
Damn you're so quick! I thought I would be the first... I know I was second on Rick's list...Dagny_Taggart said:I'm almost through installing them... you get to keep the handrails.
Make sure you both get some good pics posted up somewhere when install is complete......... that way maybe we can drum up enough interest for the group buy and I can get mine ordered!!! ::015::dcstrom said:Damn you're so quick! I thought I would be the first... I know I was second on Rick's list...
How'd the install go? The racks on my Wee took a bit of tweaking, hope these go on a bit easier.

Sorry to hear that, but not surprised. Thanks for trying to put this together. Bit the bullet and just ordered the 9" Safaris in Charcoal for my Raven, with the liners, and a medium Wolfman drybag duffel. Can't wait to get them, but ouch, that hurt $$$$.maddog5150 said:Got this reply fro Rick at Xplorermoto:
James, I met with Jesse today & discussed the probability of doing a group buy. After going over all of the numbers, we've decided not to participate at this time. The margins won't support any type of discounts currently. Perhaps in the future we'll be able to offer something along the lines of an incentive. I wish I had better news for the parties interested in a group buy.

::007:: bummer there. Guess we can all move forward (or not) independently...
Make sure to post some pics when you get them. I was thinking about the bags in the charcoal color, but have not seen any pics of them yet. I don't think I can get away with the 9" safaris. That might be partially due to the fact that I met a guy with a 800GS with the 9" and the opening just seemed really small with the exhaust cut out. I tend to bring lots of riding gear and other misc junk with me, so I think I am still sticking with the Odysseys. I like the look of the Safaris better, nicely rounded edges, but the 9" is too small and the 11" seems too big.....BaldEagle said:Sorry to hear that, but not surprised. Did they say if the 9" safaris are available now for the Super Tenere?BaldEagle said:Sorry to hear that, but not surprised. Thanks for trying to put this together. Yes. I also wanted the Safari Topbox and rack, but they didn't have pricing on that yet and the rack isn't available even though they show it on the Jesse site.stevepsd said:Did they say if the 9" safaris are available now for the Super Tenere?
I decided to go with the 9"ers just so I wouldn't be carrying such a wide load all the time. I also got the Wolfman medium dry duffle and will buy the 45 ltr. Safari Topbox at a later time. It gives me a modular system of 90+45+40= up to 175 ltrs. of storage that I can add or subtract as needed. If I need more chit than that, I should be taking the pick-up! LOL Seriously, if I am taking more than that it would be because I am camping (which I try to avoid), and I would get tie-down loops or roof racks for the bags to strap on things like a tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc., which I wouldn't be putting in hard bags anyway.maddog5150 said:Make sure to post some pics when you get them. They build a great product with a worldwide reputation for quality. if you were in their position with short supply and high demand why would you toss away profits. Jesses regular customers who have bought their bags in the past will by them again when they buy a Tenere. If a group buy was offered all those regular customers would expect the group pricing hence a refund if they have purchased or going forward the same discount.
To offer a group buy would make no sense
holy schnikies! $1495??? that's a lot of money.BaldEagle said:Can't wait to get them, but ouch, that hurt $$$$.
