The Nolan N90 did not have pockets for speakers so that one is out.
The one in my local dealer does, they even removed the lining to show me them (plus you could feel them anyway) they need them for the Nolan comms system which it has a compartment for so would be stupid not to have speaker pockets
Recently bought two R-Pha Max helmets, on the way back from the dealer it pissed with rain and the Mrs one leaked, the UK importer had it back for a week and "fixed it", next time out it let in so much wind the Mrs could not keep her eyes open at speed (good job she was on the back :exclaim
Anyway we returned hers for a refund, I have persevered, but this lid does not have any speaker pockets - or at least not where your ears are, there are two circular areas that look like speaker pockets, but they are by your temples and even if you do put speakers in they press into your head (Autocom speakers) Ideally they need to be where the chinstrap runs so you can't get them in very well.
It is very light and comes with pinlock, integral sunshield (far too light a tint for my liking though - but at least it comes down properly, many only half cover your field of vision) The only other gripe is despite having a small the strap even at tightest is a shade loose, just too long, i reckon they use the same strap part for those with larger heads (pr more chins) than me.
Overall very dissapointed, if this was priced at £200 I could accept the shortcomings, at a £360 list price it is too pricey for what you get. I now want to rip out the Autocom and turn it into a lid I will use when I don't want music / comms (shorter one up trips) and get a new lid for touring and long runs.
I do really like flips now, last change (Schuberth S1) was first integral sun shield for me and now I can't do without it, same goes for flip fronts now I have had one, just so nice to get some nice air as soon as you stop, and to be able to wander about briefly without a lid "in your face" so to speak, like buying fuel / asking directions / having a quick drink / pee (so hard to make sure your not gonna piss your pants with a full face lid on)
I liked the N90 for the money and may get one at this years bike show if a deal can be found, would love a Multi-tec or C3, but they are the sort of cash I never spend on a Helmet, would rather buy cheaper and change more often (same as my theory on crazily expensive oils)
I am aware of the Schuberth chin strap issue, my S1 cut a little deep into Adams Apple, there is a procedure apparently, but I don't want to go there, but I know I can live with this as my S1 was OK when I got used to it. The reason is Schuberth's system is designed to prevent lids coming off in a crash.
So unless someone is doing crazy clearance prices on C3 or Multi-tec I reckon it will be a Nolan N90 - which got a good web bike world write up, and Nolan were early adopters of flip fronts so seem to be stronger in this segment than their pricing would suggest.
