5'8"-9" ; 30 ; low seat; medium w/s ; improvement ::015::
The big difference here from my experience is likely the low seat and my Arai XD3. Glad you are having good luck. Hopefully the large makes all the difference for me.

I got my medium screen from Calsci after exchanging the large I originally ordered. It is an improvement over stock, but not near as quiet as the large. It seems to be one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios. With the large, I was looking through the screen way more than I wanted. The medium is much better in that regard, but there is still some drumming inside the helmet from turbulent air.

My personal woes aside, Mark at Calsci has great customer service, and I recommend their windscreens.

I currently own 2 CalSci screens a medium and a tinted short version, in addition I also have a Touratech adjuster, this certainly does give you more options. However I would also add:

1) The finish around the edges of the CalSci screens is very poor for a product of this price

2) My medium screen has covered around 500 miles and it would appear that it chips easily

I will most likely continue to experiment with different screens (when money is available) The screen I would like to try out at the moment is the Givi AF447 screen, strange looks but could work

I agree with your concerns over the finish on the edges. I also agree that Mark is very good to deal with. I have my large screen on replacing my medium. I will give it a try tonight. Here is to finger crossing!

Same here w/fit finish. I got a Medium and did around 400 miles today. It's an improvement for me (5'8" w/28 inseam and seat in low).

The edges are a bit sharp and the shield, mounted in the low position, will touch part of the dash near the sig lights. You can take your finger and just tap the shield in that area and it taps the dash so I'm going to take about a 1/4 inch off that small section. I'll take some pics later and also sent to calsci so they can adjust the bottom shape for that small section. It's nice that a microfiber cloth, cleaning fluid and a tire gauge was included but I didn't expect to have to sand the edges myself. Hopefully, the process will be improved.

The shield itself seemed to be a better option for me than the stock shield. I had a cross wind coming at me from the left front of the bike the 2nd half of the trip but for me this shield appears to give me a similar experience as on my ST1300 so I'm good there.

What a long, strange trip it's been.

Disregard my earlier post regarding the stocker screen, please!!!!

The stocker was fine for the initial break-in rpm limit of 3900 rpm's, and short sprints to 90 mph. As I've put more miles on the bike, it has become apparent (to me), that the factory screen is OK for general riding, but seems lacking in height.

At higher sustained speeds, the Calsci medium seems to work very well (for me), so far. I just installed it yesterday and ran it 200 miles today (mostly freeway, with some two lane paved). I like the screen. Was clocking 75-80 mph on my Garmin Nuvi 500 GPS and was comfortable on the bike, despite some pretty good crosswinds over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge around 2 p.m.

As far as the bike, she has nice, usable low and mid torque, for sure! Very enjoyable. I'd like to take her through Guadalupe Pass when it's really howling! :D

Time to drop the oil at 1,000+ and do a flush and fill on the FD.

The more time I spend with her, the more time I want to spend with her.....

OK, I'll admit it, I'm smitten. :)

I received the large CalSci screen and sent it back for the XL version. Kept it wrapped up during my test ride so I didn't look at it too closely. If I just moved my head down an inch then no issues with wind. So the XL version should be perfect. Good customer response from CalSci (always important) and the screen included a small towel and cleaning fluid. Note, I do have my seat at the high position and sit up straight.

I currently have the MRA VarioTouringScreen Windshield which looks darn sharp and does a good job with the wind, but still a little too noisy for a long trip. Plan to keep it for my bounce around town windscreen for the looks. After all, 90% of riding is about fashion...

I have returned the medium in exchange for the large after two short road runs. I want to put my screen at the lowest position to keep the bugs and rain from sneaking up underneath. I'm 5-9 with about a 31 inch inseam and have my seat in the lowest position. At this time of year I intend to use the large screen for touring and cold protection. When Summer returns I will go back to a shorter screen for some dirt road fun.
If I knew how to post things on this site I think a spreadsheet of everybody's numbers might be interesting.

Last week I was reading an online motorcycle publication and they mentioned that wind noise is the number one cause of hearing loss in motorcyclists. I wonder why my wife keeps yelling at me?

I'd love to know how tall you are, maybe I missed it in a earlier in thread. I can see where it seems a persons plus or minus one inch height difference make a big difference.
BTW I know about the 10% that don't follow the fashion rules and thats why I ride with "All Gucci All The Tme - AGATT
