Hi Trevor don't let that no check book stuff stop you, do like Koinz said and use that c/c.

Hey Vince,

I know the instructions for the group buy say payment is "preferably by check"... well I use checks so infrequently these days that I can't find my check book - last time I used it was probably 2 years ago. You know if they will do paypal?

Don't worry, there's no stopping me either way! I'll give Tammy a call.

A newer version maybe. World Crosser maybe. Something needing less add-ons and some of the bugs and lackings resolved. Or a new Triumph Explorer ::025::

My first ride impressions is money well spent, wow what a difference like night and day. I rode to work this morning 17 miles and didn’t fidget once in the saddle. Really awesome comfort and support. I had them mold my seat for strickly pavement riding by that I mean I asked for a wider back and sides of the seat and they definitely delivered. I am very happy but I will caution you guys with seats going to BMS or are already there the basket weave covering is very slippery. This may not do for you guys planning off road trips. On little bumps in the road I slide forward in my seat but not bad enough to be a bother and plus everything is brand new so in time it might calm down. I believe Steve mentioned the same thing. With that in mind I would highly recommend BMS.

Did you ask that they remove the tilt, and if so - is it better now? How about a picture!!

TIA,
Rod

Glad you like your Seat Vince.

Regarding the Basket Weave - I noticed the same thing on the Sargent Seat on the Vstrom. Very comfortable seat, but slippery. Luckily I have a little wooly cover that will go over mine when I get it.
My tracking information tells me it was delivered yesterday at 2:00 pm and left at the back door ???

When I spoke with Tammy yesterday I asked her to ship it back express and I'll pay the difference.
I don't know how backed up they are and with the Easter Holiday they may even be short staffed. So we'll see how long it takes to get back to the east coast. :-X :'( :'(

One more thing I wanted to add about my new seat the cushion was very thick and I had a hard time getting the seat to lock because it was pushing against the pax seat. I finally after many attempts figured out to put pressure with the palm of my hand on the front of the new seat and push hard rearward at the same time pushing down and the seat finally locked in solid. I’m sure this will become easier over time as well.

Hey Rod I posted pics on page 10 of this thread and yes I did have them remove the forward tilt and it is gone and 100% better.

Gary, I agree with Steve about the ride-in. A friend did a ride-in for his new RT not only to see and feel the materials but they convinced him to sit further back on the seat. KLRistas have a tendency to sit forward. He rides from LA to Roseville (850 mile round trip) twice a month and is very satisfied with the seat. I come from a Corbin KLR seat. Bought it on a ride-in and had it adjusted twice since. Something to be said about hands on. Since you live less than 350 miles I suggest do the ride-in. The people at Casa Ojai Inn seem very nice and offer a 15% discount for BMS customers.
I am riding to Ojai on Sunday the 15th and have a Monday morning appointment. Riding Maricopa Highway both in and out of Ojai. Decided to make a 3-4 day trip to some beautiful and exciting riding.
Hey Steve and Tim, Thanks for the recommendation on doing a ride in for the seat.
The reality is the seat is prolly one of the most important parts to get right. No doubt the craftsman there in Ojai are good but giving them more info is best.
I'm working out the details for the trip. Thanks again, Gary. ::026::

I have a ride in set up for the 23rd. It's gonna be a nice 140 miler one way there to Ojai. What a good deal on a custom saddle! I'll ride in prolly glad to get there as this saddle is good for only 2 hrs for me and leave and forget the exit ramp by my house because of the new luxurious ride! Will give a report after the job is done. ::015::

A update on my slippery cover....it is now not so slippery a thousand miles later. Maybe the cover has broken in....All good now.

I had they same problem, even with my stock seat. To make the seat latch better you need to slightly lower the latch bracket on the seat bottom.

Remove the single 10mm nut that holds the 'L' shaped front latch bracket to the seat bottom, remove the bracket and place a shim (I used a washer) over the threaded shaft. Replace the latch bracket and nut. Problem solved.

Congrats to Jim and Rod I hope you enjoy your seats. I have to say the more I ride on mine the more I like it. The ride home from work today was even better then the ride in.

Good idea Steve I will keep this in mind if it gives me anymore issues. When I removed my pax seat my riders seat latched fine so I figured it was a tight squeeze with the extra padding coming between the rider and pax seats with both installed.
