Sorry to hear that news BL I know Monday seems like an eternity to you but it will be all worth it when you mount that new skin and sit on it.

UPS just rescheduled my seat delivery to Monday.

3 days from the east cost via fedex for $16.

7 days back from UPS.

I'm about to lose it. Got an email from UPS that says it's being delivered today. Online tracking still says Monday.

I drowned my sorrows on Friday night. Cleaned the garage, went to the grocery store, even cleaned my shower. Tomorrow evening, I ride (hopefully).

AARGGH! Wish this post had come out a month sooner. I just received my Russell Day Long saddle. While I'm pretty sure my keister will love my RDL, it cost a coupla hundred more than the Mayer. For that, I would have joined in on the group buy. ::010:: Oh well - as they say, timing is everything in life.

I have them. Gripper material on top. Look great. Would be riding now, but I'm sick. That's right. No seats all weekend and now I'm sick.

Got my order in just under the wire! Nice talking with Tammy & Rocky.

I'll post pics once the seats get back. Looking forward to this.

Well it looks like I made it under the wire also. I'm going to take off on Friday morning for a all day ride and have them do my seat that morning. It sure looks most of the ride on 41 and 33 should be real nice ride. Not sure what way I'm going to come home but I may come down 101.

Here is a route http://g.co/maps/854c8 you won't regret one mile of this route until you get to I-5. "for fun, use the 3D Button on Google Maps. For a closer look use Street View.

33 - I like it better northbound
Lockwood Valley Road - very nice road. be careful on a few of the tight turns. There is gas in Frazier Park.
Cerro Noroeste Road - you are on top of a ridge and can see through almost every turn. 50-60-70-80 mph is not a problem.
Soda Lake Road - crosses Carizzo Plains National Monument. 45 miles of some asphalt, mostly hard-pack and gravel. a lot of fun.
58 - Is a fun road.
La Panza Road - nice large lot homes road with a good surface and no stop signs.
Creston Road - good surface with traffic.
River Road - enjoyable flowing road with not much traffic.
Vineyard Canyon Road - would love to live on this not very populated county road. I did see deer feeding in the agri-lands. Some elevation change. Takes you to the San Andreas Fault.
Parkfield - small very nice town with a restaurant. Has a USGS center that monitors the San Andreas Fault.
Parkfield-Coalinga Road - winding county road that leads to Parkfield Grade.
Parkfield Grade - 4 miles of hard-pack with gravel to the top and twistie asphalt down the other side. Watch for cattle and cow patties in the road. Very nice experience.
198 - a race track with traffic to Coalinga. I liked it.
Coalinga - small town with anything you will need.
Los Gatos Road - starts with straight roads through oil fields and cattle ranches. Becomes Coalinga Road, 2 lanes of twisties. Becomes a single lane at the San Benito County line. Winds through the mountains and is a hoot.
25 - beware of aerial police. Smooth, twistie, fast, with too many straights on the north end.
Tres Pinos - small town with a couple places to stop. I suggest FlapJacks Country Kitchen. Got a great tuna sandwich with a fresh salad for $7.95. Gasoline available.
Fairview - bypasses Hollister. Straight with commuting traffic.
156 - truck traffic to and from 152.
Casa de Fruta - Chevron, restaurant, fruit stands, good place to stop for a break
152 & San Luis Reservoir - traffic, trucks, usually good passing lanes, windy, fast, and too many CHP. Four CHP waiting on a downhill slope near the dam.
I-5 - BOORRRIIIINNNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

Another wire-ducker here.:) Tammy is great to work with, and must have the patience of Job to deal with all our questions and the other phone lines ringing.

BMS mentions on their site that the vinyl is available in plain or basket-weave. However, Tammy mentioned to me their latest option, which she refers to as Ferrari-look because it's featured in the leather upholstery of some of their cars -- presumably she owns one.;)

This latest vinyl has a perforated look, but the 'perforations' don't actually go all the way through the cover. No real cooling benefit from either the perf or basket-weave, just more stylish per Tammy.

If I've successfully uploaded the photo she sent me, here's a look at it. I think I'll go with the tops of my covers done this way.

- Mike

Hey Mike thanks for posting the photo. I went with the gripper top on mine from BMS and for me it works great but man that foux perforated looks very nice.
If that's the one you go with let us know what you think. ::022::

Hey Mike thats a pic of my bike just before I left for home. And it sure does look good.
Cool! My seat gets there today or tomorrow so I emailed Tammy and changed from basket weave to the perforated material.
Thanks for the heads up!

Hey Lost you can try and call Tammy at BMS and see if they will let you take part in the discount but it really ended on May 15th. BMS may still let you in just call them. The number is on the very first post or just google Bill Mayer Saddles

Man that perforated look is nice, I may have chosen that if it was available at the time but the basket weave is good also. I know one thing this seat is mightly comfy.
