Man that perforated look is nice, I may have chosen that if it was available at the time but the basket weave is good also. I know one thing this seat is mightly comfy.

By appearance, the new perf looks softer.

9 1/2 HOURS in my Bill Mayer Saddle today and NO Monkey Butt. My riding companion on his BMW R1200 was in serious pain on his stock seat.

You will be glad. Great investment! I was worried since the first couple rides were a little rough. It had to break in. Who woulda thunk it. I did cut the rubber bumpers under the seat in 1/2 (just the back 4, left the front 2 OEM) to minimize rocking forward. It's dialed in pretty good now. I'm good after 9 1/2 hours of paved road bare knuckle twistie riding. A soak in the hot tub and 3 Sweetwater IPA's fixed me right up.

Found a box waiting when I got home from work today...

Got the 'perforated' covers...

Dry fit...

This ought to do me fine...

Had them add 2" to the stock height...

Thanks for putting this group buy together!

Hey Mbabc, what are the black bars just below the rear hand grips? Are those pannier brackets? If so, what are you running. I'm looking for something durable but not $$$$.

Just read all 22 pages. Fun read, and some of you are serious candy butts! :D kudos to the peeps that initiated the GB and made it work. Very nice work for the forum members.

Tim, just ride baby, ride. Everything gets better with miles.

Glad folks are enjoying the BMS seats. Good crew there and Rocky does well.

I still like my Russell on the FJR, but who knows with the S10?

I can't believe I missed this. I am going to head up to BMS very soon. I just sent them an email to get the deal rolling. My seat just isn't nice to my butt. I kept thinking it would get better but it hasn't. I rode about 130 miles yesterday and hurt for a good bit of the last half. I feel lucky to live within 90 miles or so to Ojai. If they offer me a discount all the better but I am just so happy I live nearby I don't care.
Glad you all are loving the seat, I'm sold. I am going with the closest vinyl to the stock seat because I like the way it holds me just not the pains.
Thanks for all the input.
Best,
dt

dt, just a heads up. If you Ride-in on a re-fit it will cost you an additional $95. Ask them about the re-fit cost.

Sent my seat back today for a re-do. Could'nt stand it anymore, the seat was killing me after a few hours. I was hoping it was just a break-in thing, but I gave it 2 months and no better. :(

Seems the seat is to wide and flat for me. I had them add 2" (being 6'4") so maybe it's the angle my leg is as it goes over the edge of the seat. Seems more like a crusier seat the way it is now.

I've asked them to increase the 'slope' and narrow it so it's not killing my thighs.

A few pics.

I'm sure they can get it fixed and I'll report back. Anyone else not 100% on their B. Mayer seat???

I'll be rolling on my wr for a few weeks.

I'm thinking of having the cover on mine changed. It really is too slick and has not broken in to a not slick seat.. lol
I may have the padding changed a little also.

I am not comfortable on my Redo and I was a Ride-in (additional $95). A few others members ave contacted me with their thoughts. BMS won't see me again and I really like that area for riding. Neat town and terrain.

Bill Mayer BMS Seat Group Buy Anyone???

My wife and I just did a 4400 mile trip on our BMS seats. Very happy. So much better than stock. I felt like my seat really came into its own after about 300 miles each day. I felt like I could rise continuously after that point.

Its a few more dollars, but I opted for the Russell Day Long saddle. My brother has one on his RSV and swears by it. I had to send it back once for a refit, but it's pretty nice now. I completed a Bun Burner Gold with it and my arse was not the most worn out part of me.

When I sent it in for rework, they admitted having little experience with S10's and begged my patience. Guess they are quick learners, cuz it fits like a glove now that I've broken it in. Once I get my highway pegs fabbed/installed, will be ready for anything.

It takes about 1,000 miles to properly break in. It makes a noticable difference. I remember tooling along when it hit me all of a sudden "AHH, that's better!". Russell offers a money back gauruntee but only after allowing 2 attempts to refit. Seems fair - if they can't get it right after 2 shots, they should give your money back. Not sure what happens if there is a failed second attempt. Didn't have to go there.

I've put at least 3k on mine and not crazy about it. It's no better than the stock one I modified w/back armor and maybe a notch below that. Everyone is different and not every seat can be adapted for every person. I should have specified I wanted to keep the stock shape and not have the shaped form they used w/wings but wasn't aware that was a possibility...

I'll sell mine once sargent comes out with theirs and I have a chance to compare the two.

Agreed - to each their own. Did you give Russell a chance to rework it? Made all the difference for me.
