This has been a learning curve! I paid £120 EACH for just two - didn't know what the issue was at first as I don't have a garage and didn't fancy stripping the bike down in the snow so went to dealer - that's Yamaha direct pricing.
Thanks to you guys I've just ordered 2 from the USA for $80...
Had to replace the front two recently - not cheap! Anyone know if other Yamaha coils will fit eg the R6 coils look the same ( come up as a different part number but you never know...) and there’s plenty of them about

Most of my contribution got mentioned ( David Thomas) including the " it's not BMW" hope others agree. On the whole a good article but as r1d1 rightly points out, the Beemer v KTM restores normal service.

Had two TDM900s before the S10' only bike I've ever repeated! They came after a vfr800 and were a revelation! In any ways the S10 is a "grown up " version of the TDM, unfortunately also shares it's misunderstood status (although part of me feels sort of smug about that as well As!)

Despite the tag I'm based in N London, whilst I quite enjoy the scarcity of our bikes I'd love to meet up with fellow S10'ers. Midlands or of course Wales is good. Look forward to hearing from you all.

;) Ironically many European police forces [ and I've seen these for myself in Italy] are moving to the S10 from another under rated/ slated Yamaha - the TDM900- I had 2 and loved them. uch in common with the S10 especially the ability to engender passion and an almost evangelical following of...
>:D Bloody stupid - am I! Got into a stupid 'pissing competition with an Audi TT on the way up to NWales and really opened her up- as Iwas fuly laden with panniers and top box this was a bit stupid[ okay it was just stupid]- any way 130mph but then a nasty rear end weave! didn't brake just...

I live in London so vast majority of my riding is on Tarmac - often two up but I do like to get out and explore back lanes and found out the limitations of the bike (me?) last weekend when doing exactly as you describe - kept going as turning round was too hairy. Bike and I had coped fine...
::009::As Dallara and Mikey have so ably said, my problem is one of attitude. I am a passionate biker and when I meet another biker I love to chew the fat regardless of what they ride. Indeed when I trained with the East London branch of IAM [ Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists] I met many...
;)Nice one - definitely one to add to the emergency stash, especially now 'easy' dispensers are available. Only recently learned [and usubsequently used] that superglue was a US invention developed during Vietnam for emergency wound closure ! So cool.
:oOuch! yes I see what you mean about health insurance - I've had more than my fair share of treatment [free] on the NHS over the last few years with two hip replacements and treatment for throat cancer!
You're quite right about average cars now returning better mileage and making bikes look...
:-[ had a blinding weekend as I combined two passions - strapped a fly rod to the S10 and rode to North Wales for the weekend. Living in London means escaping is not always easy and the earliest I could get away was 5:00pm - straight into rush hour congestion. The 8 miles from the city to the...
