HOW TO BUY QUESTIONNAIRE FOR RiDE MAGAZINE

Thanks for filling this in - every response really helps.
Please, please PLEASE answer questions in as much detail as possible – better to write too much than too little!

1: Your name:
2: Your age:
3: Occupation:
4: Bike model:
5: Year:
6: Mileage at purchase:
6a: Mileage now:
7: Average MPG (if known):
8: Average tank range (if known):
9: Tyre life: Fr: Rr:
9a: Tyre choice – what do you like, and why?

10: A bit of background - your biking history, how you ended up with this bike in the first place.

11: Good points – why you’d recommend the bike to others, what it’s good at, why you like it. The more detail the better.

12: Bad points - did it break down? Are/were there bits you don’t like about it? What would you change?

13: Servicing - rough costs if you have it dealer serviced, or level of difficulty if you do it yourself. Any hints and tips for anyone planning to do their own servicing?

14: Anything else? Modifications made, trips you’ve done? Owners’ forums you recommend? Sources for parts and accessories? Anything I’ve forgotten?

15: Pics - if you want to send some (and tell us what they’re about!), please feel free. Please don’t include them in this or any other Word doc though - they’re a nightmare to retrieve again. JPG attachments is fine.

I'd assume they would be interested in US owners opinions as well?

Have you considered cross posting this on ADV?

I'd be interested to see others replies...

I checked with Kevin at ride and he wants as many responses as possible and from all over the world is fine ::008::

I am not on ADV, but feel free to copy my OP and post it there.

Rasher, I replied because you posted it. Normally I stay away from surveys and questionnaires. You took the time to answer my questions when I first was looking at the S10 and I always appreciated it. Best part is everything you told me was pretty darn accurate!

I posted it because Kev at Ride Magazine asked me if I could dig up some owners - he thought it might be a small sample otherwise.

Something I thought I'd never see, a UK bike mag article which isn't biased against our bike ::022:: ::012::

I was hoping to see my name in the owner's comments section, but I was glad to see a shout out to the forum!

Nice to know the quirks other owners have shared. Looking forward to many, many miles on the '12.

I didin't look at the date of the OP and sent in my questionaire last night.
Kevin got back to me and asked that I mention the article is already written.

He was real nice about it!

Great article.
The mag makes up for it by including in the same issue an article comparing the merits of the R1200 GSA v KTM's 1290 Super Adv on a trip to Portugal and back. It's written by someone who writes as if he's testing two supersports bikes, and is the usual BMW biased crap from start to finish. meh!

Most of my contribution got mentioned ( David Thomas) including the " it's not BMW" hope others agree. On the whole a good article but as r1d1 rightly points out, the Beemer v KTM restores normal service.

Kev Raymond writes some good stuff in "Ride", unlike some others who shall remain nameless. ::008::
