Yes, Cruise would be a super nice feature. I had it on my Royal Star Venture and used it all of the time when just going across town. Look how long it took Yamaha to do away with the Cassette decks in the RSV's? 1996-2011? 2012 was the first year and all they did was put in a IPod interface that has had lot's of problems. Cruise is such a simple thing and seems like a simple refit.

Just my 2 cents...

Yes. I don't understand why Japanese bikes are more expensive in Europe and German bikes are more expensive in the US. Proximity? Not sure if that is the whole story. The general rule in marketing is to not charge what a product is worth, but what a customer will pay.

Politics, tariffs, and trade agreements.

anyone using a Kaoko throttle lock/cruise control?
I've used these on a few other bikes. they work pretty well, and really easy to use, although manual.

I've got the Kaoko and it works OK. Nothing stellar, but the installation was all of 6 minutes; including finding the tool. There is a tiny friction lock hex key that prevents it from 'unwinding' itself. That's important from a convenience standpoint. Once you get that where you want it, it's pretty easy to use.

Finally ordered my 2013 white S10, trading my 2008 Honda Goldwing. Dealer reports my S10 is on a ship en route to Canada. Likely a month before I see it. Getting anxious to get her home...

The white is really nice.

I sent Wayne (Tuneboy fame) another email to urge him to not forget us for wishing to be next on his list for CC after he finishes with Multi 12.

Your white one will disappear in the winters back there!
Anyone brave enough to venture out on an ST in Ontario winters? I guess I would be more afraid of the road salt!
Let us know when it arrives.

Anxiously waiting for his response!

Took a couple of days, but he is a busy guy most likely.

Hi

I have been working on the last bits of code for the Multi CC.
I have made it so you can connect some buttons to the O2 sensor input to
provide a nudge up and down for the cruise set point.
I have also made it so the throttle rolls off when you touch the brakes
instead of a slam shut.
I think I am almost done with the Multistrada.
Just need to write the documentation

Love the grey. Such a great idea making a bike the exact same colour as ashphalt so it becomes totally invisible. Now the "sorry mate - I didn't see you" brigade will have a bona fide excuse. Yes, I know about the headlights being on and they don't even see that but anything that makes the bike more invisible can't be smart - can it? Besides, what about the side view?

Has anyone ridden both an FJR and a Kawasaki Concours 14? How do they compare?
Owned a FJR, ridden a C14 a few hours. Very comparable... the C14 is a bit faster. They've been cross-compared in four or five magazine tests and typically the C14 comes out ahead due to a little more motor. My FJR with aftermarket suspension definitely handled better; don't know how they would be stock to stock. I've always thought the C14 styling was "off" and there are horror stories about how difficult routine maintenance is, especially valve adjustments. Also think Yamaha is a little higher-quality product overall and has gone through a 2nd gen set of refinements. New one coming this fall is refined yet further and has cruise.

Right now, older FJRs, especially the first few years of the 2nd gen (2006-2008) are screaming bargains - I see them change hands for less than $8K well-farkled and that is a LOT of bike for the money.

You couldn't go wrong with either, although in this class of bike, I'd probably lose my head and get the BMW 1600 GT if I was buying a new one today, just to be able to listen to that glorious six.

Is that the sound of the six figure check you wrote for maintenance, repairs, or your trip to the head shrink? It is doubtful that you would hear much engine as it would sit idly in the service department more than on the road. ::025::

Perhaps that he's told you about. ::) You might want to mention to him about the radiator cap replacement and water pump failures. The dealer should have already replaced his radiator cap, (many just swap them when the bike is in for other service and never tell the owners), and he would be wise to order up a water pump so it's on hand when his fails and he doesn't get stuck waiting for 2-4 weeks for the new one. Not bashing here Mark, dead serious. These are real issues for the K1600.

I had one BMW and that one was enough to sour me on them for the next 125yrs. :)
Me too, well my wife had one also, so technically 2 bmws. The only good thing I can think of to say about them, they have given me lots of riding buddies over the years.

I had an '08 FJR and a '10 Concours and the Yamaha felt much lighter and the handling was sportier but the engine was a little buzzy and the footpegs were too low which caused a lot of unexpected dragging in corners. The Yamaha was the hands down winner in the looks department. The new FJR definitely looks promising as it hasn't gained any weight and it has more standard features. Hmmm ... my next bike???
