Remove various nuts and bolts, a long thin steel pipe, then give the bike a shake and a wheel will fall off. Anything else I can help with? O:)

how about a tool to get the front wheel off. You'd think they would add that to the tool kit. I am glad I checked cause I need to get something to take that beast off.

I am with you moto. Even my old KLR tool kit provided the axle nut tools for both axles and it was a $5,000 motorcycle. The tool kit for the Super Tenere should be an embarrassment to Yamaha.

-What is the size of the Rear Axle Nut?
-What is the size of the Hex Tool for the Rear Axle?

it looks like 27mm

the rear nut is not a problem as any adj wrench will work. I have a problem with the specific 19mm allen which is harder to find.

Can't get a service manual soon enough. Not saying I am right but thi is what I measured.

My HF calipers are sucking big time so I used the manual calipers (China) and got 1.02" which is 26mm http://www.camaloustudio.com/mm.htm . 27mm is 1.06.

Might sound like I know what I am doing, wrong. If the wrench fits I used it :) I am trying to find the correct wrench sizes so I can order a set of those tools. The tools I hope I will never need to use.

It is 19mm hex bit. I ordered one through amazon for $9.00 delivered. Yes the toolkit one is a joke. Mine would not even fit.

Maybe go down to the Ace Hardware and buy a metric bolt with a 19MM head and a couple of nuts?

yes, that would work as well. I always like having a way to get the tire off when I'm on the road. I've got to gather my tool kit before heading out.

Change the wheel?? Into what? :D

Seriously, do you want to know how to remove and replace a wheel or how to remove and replace a tire?

Ok, we know the rear axle nut is a 27mm. The hole in the end of the rear axle that you need a big allen wrench for is 19mm. What size is the allen hole in the front axle? The rear axle just needs to be held still while you wrench off that big nut. Looks like you need to actually unscrew the front axle from the opposite fork leg after loosening the pinch bolts. The front axle cavity is smaller, 13? 14?

-Are we sure the Rear Axle Nut is a 27mm? I measured 1.02".
-If the Rear Axle slot is 19mm so is the Front Axle Slot. I have a 17mm and it is too small.

Tomorrow I am going to HF to pickup some tools and a motorcycle lift. Changed the oil (motorcycle) on my back for the last time at home. If they have them i will purchase a 19mm allen and a set of the larger mm sockets.
