My tools of choice:
I used very light 800, 1000, then 1500 sandpaper. Then a small buffing wheel in my drill with some "Red" compound. I followed it up with a hand application of Mag+Aluminum Polish. I spent about an hour and a half total time to do both pipes.

It didn't take much work at all..............just a little bit of time, and a little elbow-grease.
I know, they will quickly turn gold/blue once i ride the bike, but the staining bugged me...........
