Since I became an advanced bike tutor I've been using Autocom but there's nowhere near enough room on the S10 to keep the modem, cables and radio so most of it was in a tank bag. I've given up and I'm trying a Sena SR10 coupled to my Scala headset and Baofeng UV-5R. The power lead for the SR10 switches the unit off and on with the ignition so I can leave them both under the seat and only touch the radio to change channel if needed. The SR10 also has a feed from my Garmin 660, the turn by turn instructions are great but the music quality is rubbish but I can live with that. The next step is to add an extended antenna that I'll route under the pillion seat and will bolt the antenna to the pannier rail.

Michelin Road 5 Trail mounted. Got 13k out of the OEM front Battlewing, but you can see where it was starting to wear strange. Can't wait to burn through the rest of the E-07 Dakar on the rear and get back to street rubber on both ends.

Today, I fitted a set of Oxford Heated Grips, fitted a pigtail for the battery charger and removed the cheap and nasty topbox that came with the bike and fitted a nice, neat Pelican 1450 box to the brackets for the rear rack. I used 4 anti-vibration mounts with stainless steel nuts and washers to mount the box.

Added a light bar to go with the high beam after posting here that my high beams were broken when in fact they just sucked.
Can’t believe that I only have one more line left on my Eastern Beaver PC8. Need to stop farkeling.

Oil change time. Bike is bumping 60K miles. Front tire would not hold pressure for more than a day or two, but no apparent nail/screw...etc. Did the soap/water, and wow, the air was leaking at the rims. Found out that the balance beads over the last 6K miles had been wedging themselves between the rim and tire bead (Mitas E-07), causing the leaking. Cleaned, and hopefully fixed. Tire balanced without any beads or weights.

I forgot to put in my earplugs the other night for my trip home from work. Noticed a weird creaking noise and narrowed it down to the clutch lever.
Today I removed both levers, cleaned the pivot bolts and greased up with some silicone grease. Clutch had some bad corrosion, brake not so much.

I guess every month or so I will skip the earplugs and listen for more issues.

No pics yet...

For the Vstream patio door, errr... Touring windscreen. Looks great. Also did a riser install(the ebay risers from Turkey) and installed a set of Tracer GT 900 handle bars. About 1.5" shorter overall than the stock ones, alot less sweep. I always liked shorter handlebars on my bike. I'll ride them tomorrow and take a few pics. I hope my shoulder pains are gone with this mod.

Please post a review under tire section of your opinion of mr5,was going to try those next.
This.

I'm going over reviews of tires on ADVriders and it's all over the freaking place... I'm hoping to get good infos from like minded S10 riders.
I know what you mean about the reviews... there's not much real world data out there yet. As I put more miles on it I'll report back. The front feels twitchy right now in a straight line, especially compared to the worn out Battle Wing. I think it's also fighting my half worn, flat spotted E-07 on the back, but I think it'll break in and be ok. Leaned over the PR5 feels great, but again I'm limited by the E-07 on the rear. The edges of the tire are very soft and sticky to the touch, moreso than the other PR tires I've used.

Checked the straps on the trailer, again. First time I've ever trailered my own bike anywhere, except the '40 HD. Made it thru TX/OK and into AR today. I think it's 8 states so far. Ending in MS tomorrow afternoon.
