Went for a short ride/shake down cruise. First time I even started a bike since autumn.
New accessories recently installed, altrider skid plate and givi crash bars.
Confirmed bike still wheelies with the extra accessories installed.
Confirmed the acceptability of the fit of my new helmet.
Confirmed my Gerbing jacket and gloves still work.
Confirmed my riding gear still fits.

I am ready for riding season...up next TKC 80s.

Rode it home from the dealer yesterday and today I installed my Bumot racks. Now I have to wait for decent weather. they are calling for a couple inches of slush snow tomorrow. When is Al Gore's global warming going to get to my part of the world?

Took her to the dealer for a 4000 mile service (without oil change). Bike was cold by the time they started her up to bring her into the shop. Mechanic told me in no uncertain terms the oil was low and that he had topped her off with 600 cc of oil.

Then brought her home and removed 600 cc of oil to get the oil level back to where it was supposed to be. Many thanks to the poster whose comments reminded me that removal of the front drain plug yields about 2 cups of oil.

Proof that even a Gold certified Yamaha mechanic may not know all he should know about our bikes...

Nice pic's Dogdaze ::008::

I had a trundle out with littledave and ended up doing 250 miles ! We had a run up into Scotland and ended up at St Mary's Loch (a very popular biker haunt) and came home the long way via Dumfries. A cracking day out and our new Sena 20s' worked superb. Just have to tackle all the muck & grime on the bike now...

Spent today with the wife and a 2 year old. She (2) wanted to sleep on my lap so I did not ride. However tomorrow I get to ride with a beautiful woman. Right Steve (eemsreno)?

The Sena's were great and it was our first try out of them, really clear vocals with minimal breakup and decent range. The headline 'up to 2kM talking distance' needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but they are a good bit of kit all the same. The Mrs rang me at one point and couldn't believe I was on the bike as it was so clear. Hooked up easily with my Garmin so there will be few excuses for getting lost now... Surprisingly clear at higher speeds too, which is nice ::008::
