I had mine literally rotate and what I mean is the torsion bar slip inside the rubber, where the wheels hit the inner fender. How I noticed was smoke coming out of the fenders from the wheels rubbing.
This happened coming off a large bridge that had steel plates at each ends to allow expansion I guess. At the posted speed limit of 80km/hr. Loaded but not over loaded according to trailer capacity.
After the fact I heard this is not uncommon with this setup.
I disagree with leaf spring being less reliable, since I converted I never had a problem. In fact the trailer is more stable because it bounces less, which is another issue with torsional sprung trailers.

Yes, they told me "do not roll up and over a curb otherwise I will have to replace BOTH axles"! If that happens then leaf springs will be installed!

On another note... finally got around to washing off that Georgia mud.
Thinking about riding north about 5 hrs and saying HI to Cycledude this weekend.

I will be in Wisconsin Dells Saturday for a Goldwing get together, your certainly welcome to join us. Million mile Phil is planning to show up on his new 2023 Goldwing.

Ordered the Scorpion battery you recommended for the Tenere tonight along with the lithium charger $244 ouch. Hopefully it works significantly better for starting a Super Tenere.

Sucks that happened.
My son has several 7x16 trailers on the road in a mobile truck service.
The torsion axles have been replaced from curbing but never slipped as you describe.
They are far more durable than spring leaf spring setup in our experience.
We use aluminum framed trailers and they are loaded heavy.

I will definitely have to be careful about staying clear of curbs. I have rolled over a few with my 26' flat bed. No big deal with that but everyone has warned me that to do it with torsion is BAAAD!

I have been avoiding the garage because it was a complete mess after several projects after I got home from Georgia. Finally had the energy and the courage at the same time yesterday and went at it. Slowly clearing up the work bench. I even threw away a box of cassettes as now I stream most music. I found my TPMS that I bought for the Tenere but didn't put it on as I wasn't able to put on my T-Valve cores as they didn't fit due to the tall ridges where the spokes connect to the rim. I may use a dremmel to get them to fit.
Got rid of an aluminum chock that I pulled off of that Aluma Trailer. Posted for free on Market Place. Two people wanted it but didn't want to come 6 miles south to get it. Wanted to meet next time I came up to Rockford... Really! A few hrs later someone saw it who wanted it and they came 25 miles. Found a home for an old ⛵ and they are coming 9 hrs North from TN. I told them if they pay for parts I will show them how to grease bearings and replace seals and tires so they won't have any worries on the way home. Nothing worse than smoking a trailer bearing on the road.
Today I cleaned up a pile and then went after changing out my MC lift's vise for a Condor Chock. It is the chock from the trailer I posted about earlier. I bought another mounting kit so I can use it on the lift as I take it off the trailer when not using it. Now with 4 thumb screws I can remove it from the lift too so I can park easily on the lift or even better... I can now work on the front wheels and forks of a MC without having to push it up backwards on the lift! Yay!! Garage is looking better and I have tomorrow off to finish it. Then the small 250 rebel will go on the lift. Drain the gas and put in fresh gas. See if it starts and then it goes up for sale. I may have to clean the carb as it sat a lot last year. No alcohol gas in it at all though. If anyone knows anybody looking for a decked out 250 Honda Rebel for a beginner I have one!

TPMS kit less than $50 USD. Well worth the money. I will get my T-Valve set up. Much easier to adjust tire pressure that way.

20230514_144641.jpg
Just showing how it clamps on. Took 5 minutes. But I had to charge it from my on board pwr source as it came not charged. New Scorpion battery was still 13.0 volts after charging.

20230514_144649.jpg
Dipped to 12.9 for a minute then back to 13.0. After charging I turned off the pwr source. I think this cost $17 on Amazon.

20230514_144743.jpg
Wow, this is the first set that is marked F or R for even easier installation.
20230514_144955.jpg
That ridge is stopping name from putting in steel T-Valve cores. Little black sensor mounted but the lock nut still needs to be soun up to lock the sensor on. Supposedly so nobody can steal it. I don't think anyone ever sees them.20230514_145406.jpg
T-Valve is to short to clear the ridge. Was wondering if it would hurt to dremmel that ridge so it would clear. 20230514_151835.jpg

After charging and setting my Hi and Low alarms it looks like I have to raise my tire pressure. I am putting these MotoZ Tractionator Adventure tires at 30F and 33R. They are 35 max. 20230514_165518.jpg
New Condor Chock in place. It also allows me to extend the lift table about 6 to 8 inches.
20230514_165657.jpg
Holding the bike up. Now I don't need to Balance a GW or CBR or whatever bike I have while clamping it in. Much safer for me!
Not bad for a rainy day! I want to swap out these tires and wear out those Bridgestone tires and not these MotoZ tires. Might have to get a set of MotoZ GPS if going to Alaska. That waybI don't have to replace tires. Not sure yet as I like how the Tractionator handles gravel and anything else!

I have 12000km or about 7400 miles on TMax tires. Hard to tell front tire has any wear yet and rear is 70-75%.
I have never gotten this kind of life out of any tire on any bike in 40yrs.

My front Dunlop TrailMax currently has over 12,000 miles with lots of life left, there was a guy on here a week or so ago showing a rear Dunlop TrailMax with 23,000 miles that still had a few miles left !
I will be heading for Alaska in July with a brandnew set of Dunlop TrailMax Mission tires, I believe they are currently the best all around tire for the Super Tenere, definitely not cheap $386 for a set.

Hope the fire situation in the north improves because at the moment its not doing so well. BC is completely covered in smoke coming from the north and you cannot see the sky or the mountains around here right now and its only May.
We are set for a June 23rd departure and it has me concern

Please keep us updated as smoke is no fun. I have been out west and far vista's were non existent. We even had very hazy days in Illinois from fires out west.

Will do.
Northern eastern BC, Alberta including Yukon are seeing unprecedented temperature for May and fire season appears to be at full swing very early. Really hoping things settle down to more normal.
So far the west has been good.
Also, the Alaska Highway out of Fort St.Johns was closed a few days ago because of heavy smoke and Fort St Johns was on alert. I believe it is reopened now.
We will see what the weekend brings, being it is a long weekend here in BC and many are heading out into the back country.

I took off the front wheel today and I removed the MotoZ Tractionator Adventure tire and put on a MotoZ Tractionator GPS tire. The Adventure looks good after 200 miles of Georgia rocks, dirt, and granite gravel plus 800 to 900 miles of pavement. Just removed them as the GPS will be on for Alaska. My Helibar setbacks came in too. So balance the tire and rim tomorrow and put it on and then work on replacement of the rear tire too.
Using my No-Mar tire changer and balancer. Also dremmeled the rim a bit to put on my T-Valve cores to run the TPMS and be able to put air in the tire more easily. Did I weaken the rim? Maybe but I don't believe so. I guess I will find out...20230528_192553.jpg
No-Mar. These are much softer sidewalls than a Goldwing tire!20230528_192606.jpg
First radius and the T-Valve fit... but then I couldn't put an air chuck on it... so had to go deeper. 20230528_200225.jpgEnd result without the cap20230528_202217.jpg
Cap on. Put a bit of spray paint to cover up the raw aluminum.

Well I stayed up reading until 3 am so had the brisket on late a 9 am. Now to balance and finish up the front tire.
I took more pictures of the rear process. More time today.
20230529_121837.jpg
First remove the brake sensor (4mm allen). Put it in a magnetic bowl.20230529_121902.jpg
Remove the axle nut. 27mm socket.20230529_121924.jpg
Remove brake torque rod. 12 mm box end for the back and a 6mm Allen.20230529_122412.jpg
20230529_122546.jpg
Loosen axle pinch bolt. 8 mm allen.20230529_122918.jpg
Put a 19 mm Allen in the axle and begin to use it as a handle and remove the axle. Here is a tip. Use a crow bar under the tire and use that leverage to easily jiggle and align the shaft/tire. She'll come right out... if the shaft has been greased a bit. 20230529_123603.jpg
Once the shaft is out use a gear tie to wire the caliper up and out of the way. Keep track of the washer that fell out of the left side as the shaft came out. It goes between the swingarm and the caliper. Then put the shaft back in. Hopefully you didn't disturb the tire off of the drive gear. If it is displaced a bit then push it back on. Now put the shaft back in and use that crowbar to jiggle/align it as it goes back in. Shaft in the use a large screwdriver and gently pry the wheel hub to your right. If no grease it might take some force. Mine glided off. 20230529_123615.jpg
20230529_123703.jpg
Axle back in.
20230529_123759.jpg
Wheel hub is pushed over to your right and axle is ready to be removed a 2nd time. When it is out the tire will roll right out.

This is the right side when wheel is shoved to your right.20230529_123928.jpg
This is the crowbar leverage trick to adjust height when trying to remove or replace the axle when alignment of the 2nd hole is giving you trouble.
20230529_124350.jpg
This is how your cush drive comes out if you do it like I just described!
20230529_124616.jpgnon-marring tools to scrape the old weights off with. You'll be PO at yourself if you use a screw driver.
20230529_130547.jpg
Cut the core out from the inside ofthe rim with a sharp knife. Replace...
20230529_131250.jpgwith a T-Valve core. No dremmel needed on the rear rim! Sprayed with lots of soapy water... no bubbles... so no leaks!!!!!20230529_135545.jpg
I get the majority of grease out with a paper shop towel and then use an old toothbrush to remove between the gears. Then ne grease goes back on.
20230529_140446.jpg
I have finally figured out the easiest way to put this cush drive back in. Sometimes I guess I just need Captain Obvious around! Put the rubber cush pads into the wheel hub. Make sure the little rubber connecting strap straddles the hub dividing ridge (sorry no picture). Then slide the silver aluminum part onto the hub. That works slick instead of the other way around!
20230529_150007.jpg
I found out you can't balance the wheel with the cushdrive in. You can on my CBR. But not the Super Tenere! That's why I got practice putting in the cush drive!!! Balancing is easy with one of these... and I know it's good to at least 150 mph with no vibrations. CBR test bed!

Another 4 hrs and this brisket will be done! Enjoy your weekend and please remember the real reason you have a 3 day weekend and remember the fallen that gave their lives so we can live in freedom from foreign Tyranny.

Torque specs:
Brake sensor- 5.1 ft/lbs
Axle Pinch Bolt 18 ft/lbs
Axle Nut 90ft/lbs

After installing tires I got busy on the Helibar setbacks. They are all done. Good piece of kit. Only concern is that I may not be able to raise the tank up with them installed. I shall see whenever I need to do it. Wasn't to bad. One bracket was a bit difficult to get to and it said it was a 10 mm bolt head. But it was an 8. 20230529_185503.jpg

found out those two little plastic rivets are a bit harder to access to get the upper right side panel off. So I grabbed a cotter pin puller. Worked like a charm!20230529_190851.jpg
Just showing a better view or the tool

The Brisket took waaaay longer than it was supposed to... I figured 14 hrs. It took 30 hrs. Of course 1 hr after I had to be at work... so my wife is texting me and saying it is delicious and very tender. Sigh...
